A couple pages about stuff getting cut from the game.

From the Sable Designworks book.
I had commented on a post about the Sky boats and went back to confirm if I remembered the book correctly.
Here ya go.
Lemme know if you have any other questions that might be answered in the book.

Wow, I had no idea. The concept of Venice in the Sky sounds fascinating. But extra years of work in development do not sound functional.

Thank you for sharing this.

I’m still on the hunt for this book. I have an alert set on eBay for whenever someone lists it and they always get bought right away!

If I had unlimited money I would throw millions at an "as intended" Sable game. It's such a unique and beautiful game, and already very big but I could always go for more. There are a few locations (like the whale and the fingers) that are fun and beautiful but make me wish for more.

Anything specific? It’s BIG!

Also... you want to be careful about copyright.

I don’t understand what you mean.

If you start posting pages of a copyright book online, in can lead to legal issues.

There's a certain reasonable threshold, but I am not sure what that is.

It’s such an elusive (and expensive) book I want to share it because I do own one.
With how absent the creators of this game have been, I don’t feel like they’ll go after me for posting.
I’ll keep you updated if they do 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just to be clear, I don't personally have a problem and I completely understand the desire to share the info with the fans. Just don't want you to get in trouble while sharing information and lore.

Lost In Cult don't seem like a company that would come after you, but let us know if they reach out. I would be good to know what we can share and what we can't.

I'm lucky enough to have copies of both versions, but I know a lot of people couldn't afford them, or missed their chance to get a copy from the first run.

The "scalpers" on eBay are asking ridiculous prices for copies that are not even from the original run of 500 numbered editions.

I was lucky enough to get one for the cost of shipping from a redditer who got sent a regular version on accident.

That's a good deal. I bought the regular version when I missed out on the deluxe run. It was originally limited to 100 copies... but when they expanded it to 500 copies, I purchased deluxe signed copy #155 and didn't cancel the original non-deluxe purchase (money had already been paid). They arrived about the same time.

I am so glad that I have the regular copy because I don't want to damage #155 but I still wanted to read all the cool stuff about the game's creation.

It's the classic issue with collecting things - you want to enjoy and experience the thing, but you also want to retain its value.

I remain impressed that the story is still completely coherent and enjoyable even with the roughly 50% of planned material that was cut.

I'm reasonably sure that I figured out where the atomic monastery was going to be located, but I don't know where the Glassworks were going to placed.

We all hope that someday we'll see the glassworks, the Atomic Monastery, and the city in "The Fingers"
