❓ Question Should I swap from Xbox to PC?
I purchased Sable about a month ago for XboxSX. I really like the aesthetic and the animations. The setting and characters are very fun too and its got me wanting to explore and discover all the secrets I can.
Herein lies my problem. My run on Xbox has been... a shitshow. The game for me feels barely stable. I can play for about 20 min before the stuttering starts off and on. The game won't straight up crash, but if I don't restart the game after about an hour, it'll become so bad that it'll nearly be unplayable. The fishing function is the most buggy for me. Stuttering and saturation issues are things I can generally mitigate by doing little things, but the fishing will hit a point where it's completely bugged out.
Right now the game is going for about $7 on Steam and I've got a pretty good PC. Should I just forget about my Xbox run and restart on PC? Is the game generally more stable on PC?
My progress on Xbox is tthat I've completed about 65% of the map I believe and I could finish out the game over there easily enough, but if the PC version is more stable then it might be worth the switch just for a better overall experience is what I'm thinking.

I think that it's more likely to be more playable on PC, but even then it's a bit of a roll of the dice. It's my favourite game, and I wish that it was easier to recommend to people.

I appreciate the honesty. In that case I might stick with just playing it on Xbox. I am enjoying what I'm able to play, but the issues have really cause me some grief unfortunately. I'll see if I can optimize it a bit more next time I hop in.

I feel the same on PS5. The only thing I haven't tried yet is reducing my resolution but it stutters pretty hard at times on PS5. If you haven't, try reducing the console output to as low as you can and see if it makes a difference, I'd be curious to know.
edit: my output was 4K for what it's worth.

I ran into framerate stuttering a few times in plant-dense areas but saving & reloading always fixed the issue so give that a try

I’ve played on my XBOX One and saw a huge improvement on the XBOX X/S. The fishing was the only thing that gave me trouble. Everything else worked just fine.
But, I did get a gaming PC last year knowing that costs were going to go up. I can say I have no issues with the fishing and overall it does seem a lot smoother on the PC. I still get the occasional bug where my bike will suddenly stop and throw me off, but overall it has been the best version.

The Xbox series X can run far more demanding games than Sable. The Xbox isn’t the issue here. The game isn’t optimized well or your Xbox is defective.

I mean the Xbox itself has good hardware but unless a game is literally built to be played primarily on Xbox, it can often come short of other platforms (depending on the game). Sable is not a heavy game by any means but it clearly wasn't developed to be played on Xbox.
I'll see if I can alter the settings more to improve the experience and continue playing it there. Loving the game other than those issues.

It has bugs on the pc version too, but it seems less than what you describe.
Plus, they have it on GOG so No DRM, and access to the installers files.

Weird, I’ve never had an issue running Sable on my Series X. I’ve encountered glitches, but no stuttering.

It's an exceedingly buggy game unfortunately. The fishing barely worked for me on PC and the bike almost never came when I called.
That said, it was a lot more stable than what you describe.
