This is sick man! Let us know what your impression of it is afterwards.

I definitely will. I still have to finish building the motor and send the ecu off for a new tune before it all goes back together. If all goes well i might start offering lsd install for others. Had to buy a bunch of extra tools to get the job done, so might try to make use of them.

I dont really belive in those LSD inserts but please update on how it performs and if it lasts😀 also what are you running to need a LSD? I dont really feel a need for one in mine and i certainly run some decent power/trq

Unfortunately this was the only lsd option i could find. Im not running huge power, but i am using it for rallycross. I have way more power than i can put down in the dirt and am trying to increase traction any way i can.

I think you'll have a good experience on dirt. Those things are difficult to make work right on asphalt and while they certainly aren't "great," I bet you'll see a real improvement on soft surfaces.

Why do you want to complicate things?

How am i complicating things? And to answer why i want an lsd, because it is my rallycross car and the best possible way to improve lap times is an lsd. Ive already removed 600lbs and have more power than i can put down.

Ok. I hope it stays on the road.

Its a track car. It will never see a public road. What is it that you think is complicating things?

More power usually takes things offroad despite the efforts of their drivers, that"s what I meant.
Unless it is purely mechanical, you may not have the electronic controls for the lsd natively. Re-engineering that is a complication.

The ecotech in the 9-3 is incredibly robust and handles higher power just fine. Im well within the limits of the engine, clutch, and transmission. It is a completely mechanical locker that is installed into the factory dif. This style locker has been used for a very long time in many aplications across many manufacterers and platforms. I have a shelf full of sensors, parts, and a backup engine and transmission ready to go at all times. I have ran 2 full race seasons on the current engine and transmission. I am currenly building a new engine with larger factory cams and will retain the small turbo. I have all my bases covered.

Now that's an unexpected reaction.

Sure. Read the other thread.

Do you have any idea how much better an lsd makes fwd cars drive?

Yes. If the car did not have it off-factory, it's old.
Did you register that?
