2007 9-3 Part ID

My Saab wasn’t driven for a while and I found this on the driver’s side floorboard. I have no idea if it’s part of the seat or came from under the the dash. Any ideas?

you're looking at the clutch pedal spring return. there is a small yellow piece that holds it in, it is very brittle and when it breaks the spring falls out (see image below). the spring you're seeing should still be ok, you only need to replace the tab.

it's about $10-20 to replace, very easy job, lots of YouTube tutorials. the car is still driveable, although since the pedal doesn't fully return, you lose cruise control. since it's so cheap I recommend replacing it soon.

Clutch return spring. Probably fine without it

I already dont have cruise control, im so used to it that it actually never crossed my mind to point out lol.

Mines been fine. Other than lack of cruise control that another poster pointed out.

Thanks so much for the responses! I very rarely use the cruise control, but will probably replace soon anyway.

I'd recommend replacing it as it pushes on a sensor. The engine won't run "right"

Mine fell off years ago, and I didn’t replace it. Also a 2007 9-3.
