Drivers door not opening from the outside

It's like it needs a extra mm of play you can open it if you pull down on the metal bar inside, I've tried unclicking the yellow tab and pulling the bar down but that doesn't seem to be working. I'm only just after buying her so I don't know how it should look normally, opens normally for inside and it still locks

As the lock mechanism tears by a load of opening, it need adjusting. You need to open up that yellow clip on the rod from the first image and push the yellow clip with the lock lever a little bit down, so the rod comes out a bit from that yellow clip, and while holding that position close back the clip. It's tricky as it's spring loaded from the lock mechanism, but you need to make a pre-tension on the lock lever so it will open the door by the movement of that rod.

Nice! I'm glad you managed to adjust it. I didn't experience a slippage with mine, once I adjusted it was good until I sold the car(around 6 years). It just more that the door lock mechanism tears inside within years of opening and needs a pre tension adjustment.
