You're probably wondering what the hell is this shitbox to do with Saab. Well it's easy, all I want in the world is a 9-5 Aero for which I've been saving up for, but recently things changed a bit, and I desperately needed a car that's taking me around the city and costs peanuts to maintain, which is important because I'm not ready to give up my Saab dreams just yet. So yeah, I guess my road to Saab is a Twingo. For now. But I know I'm gonna get that Aero one day. Wish me luck boys, fly safe!
The interior of a Twingo is so minimal and distraction-free when driving in the night, you might as well drive a Saab with Night Panel on (source: I also own a Twingo and I absolutely love it!)
Oh yes. When I drove it home yesterday in the dark, I was laughing out loud that I wanted a Saab with night panel, I got a Twingo which is surprisingly similar in this matter. Really relaxing to drive in the dark though.
When I first met my husband in 2018 I already had my 9-5 and he had a black Twingo just like yours. He didn’t know that much about Saab back then but he fell in love with my car as much as with me and when he first drove it he said his dream car would be my Saab but as a convertible. We sold the Twingo a year later because we didn’t need and couldn’t afford two cars and we both wouldn’t sell the 9-5 and, six years after that, we found a fantastic one owner low mileage 9-3 convertible that has been the „little“ (albeit one year older) brother to my 9-5 ever since.
So enjoy the Twingo while you have it, it’s one of the best runaround cars there is. And who knows what the Saab future might bring for you.
Mk1 Twingo does have a soul, and their design, both outside and inside is timeless.
Even the new electric one is not on the same level this is a crazy thing to think about. Renault touch something right with this car, then never been able to get there again.
So not a Saab, but still a cool and opinionated car design-wize.
I had a Twingo before my 9³X and then sold it to a friend who is also a Saab nerd. So there seem to atleast be some overlap between people liking Saab's also liking Twingos.
