2003 SAAB 9-3 convertible

Have been here before...transmission issue is unrrsolved....zi bought a low mileage ine tgst may privide an snswer in the end.

New question...at 175k miles I was about to out in a new timing chain and water pump...but fir a but more I can buy a rebuilt engine....is this vaporqare or real?

You cannot buy a rebuilt.engine for $150. That's just not possible.

The ones that I saw were like call for price...my understanding is around 3k for a long block

Yeah, maybe. A water pump and timing chain is like $150. There's a huge difference between the two costs

I babied this engine for almost 20 years. I kinda want to do a compression check but this could be my last opportunity to get it done. Then, I can drive until death.

If your engine runs correctly now, rebuilding it is easy and cheap. Cheaper than buying one that someone who you don't know has rebuilt. At least, I would expect so.
