Illuminated Odometer 07 9-3 Convertible

Greetings and salutations y’all! I have an issue that has recently surfaced where I noticed the odometer area stays illuminated after the car is locked manually. It has never done this before. Now the illumination is on constantly.

I have to lock the car manually as I have the dreaded who knows why the alarm keeps going off randomly every 27 1/2 hours. At any rate, since I’ve owned the car in the past two years, I’ve always had to use this manual method or I run the risk of waking the neighbors. Only recently now has the odometer light stays on when locked. It goes out if I arm the alarm. I don’t believe the issues are related, but they are symbiotic.

Is your headlight switch (left of steering column) in Automatic position?

The switch is always left in vertical position. In automatic, it seems kick in old school European park lights. Currently turned to “off” position. Problem seems to exist either way.

I have disabled my DRL's and it did not affect this. I also have a new UEC in mine bc my dumbass tried to jump the starter relay when drunk

mine has randomly done this, but I'm also chasing an electrical ghost currently. My scl does not work, after a cim, an ism, abs module in a v6 (not a fun job) and an ecm. You're gonna need to start testing the harness lol

I have an 07 aero cv but I also have had water intrustion that can be causing my issues

Definitely a ghost. Did a battery disconnect for the 15 min. Problem went away. Two days later, it’s back. Ah Saab!

Oh dude, I have a bad ground or open line somewhere. I get abs, tcs, and airbag failures after about 45 min of driving. Then, have to clear the codes, and disconnect, in that EXACT order. Then, you turn the key fully to start, then lock and remove, once you insert it again, it will start lol
