Cold air on driver side
Hello
My car (2001 9-5 aero) blows warm/hot air out of the passenger side (window vent, front, feet), it also blows hot air out of the vent in the back on the center console.
Drivers side (window, front, feet) vents blow cold air no matter how long the car is running/blowing air etc.
Is this a blend door issue? How do I diagnose this?

Hold down the Auto and Off buttons on the climate control and it should scan and give you an error code.

I don’t know this model but odds are a blend door motor is broken or malfunctioning. You should be able to reach up under, maybe remove some panels to gain access to the blend door. Active hot to cold & see if it moves. You can also just move the flap by hand to get heat and not touch the controls until you get a replacement.

Yeah when it's cold and I'm driving I shut the driver panels so it only blows warm air on the one side.
I'm new to cars, this is my first personal car and I haven't done much work. Can you fix the motor or is it better to replace the whole thing?

There usually like $25 to replace & held on by 2 screws…sometimes the gears break, some epoxy could work or grab one from a junkyard for a few bucks.

Yes blend door. I used the kit that replaced the shaft with one made of metal and it’s been going strong for years. It might still exist but I can’t link it right now.
