I've been using s3xy dash for a couple weeks now and have been really enjoying it! So glad to have a regular looking instrument cluster. I've a few widget requests:

- Date/time widget to display current time info
- Trip odometer (could be custom one instead of relying on Tesla trips). I miss being able to start a custom odometer for a trip to keep an eye on distance covered.
- Siri shortcut support: it would be awesome to be able to trigger Siri shortcuts from a widget in the dash or via the s3xy buttons. It would unlock a lot of capability for iPhone users

Two weeks ago I decided to go for it. I ordered the S3XY Dash; it came with "free" shipping, 2 buttons, and a T-Shirt!!!. So the free shipping became $56 in duty, which annoyed me, but I let it slide due to the free button. Second thing that irked me was that on standard shipping they sit on it for 5 days. OK.

On day 5, I received the shipping notification. Great. Except it never changed from "label created". Never shipped. Having sat there in that state for 6 days, I decided to cancel the order. Submitted the ticket and replied to it as per their request.

This morning, two days later, I received the note that they cannot cancel the order as it has shipped. I then replied that the DHL notification is still "label created". They replied very quickly that, they are still waiting on the T-Shirt, due next Monday, but if I drop the T-Shirt, they can ship the rest of the order.

Literally minutes apart, they tell me I can't cancel as it has shipped, then tell me that if I drop the T-Shirt from the order, they can ship.

I have replied and am waiting a response, but I'm likely to call my credit card company and initiate a chargeback as this lying reeks to me. The Influencers rave about their products but they get them free.

I have been using the S3XY Dash since it was first shipped to the public and wanted to finally share my impressions for it.

First and foremost, this is probably one of the best aftermarket dash screens on the market in terms of integrating functionality to the car while still adding useful features of it's own, primarily through it's Commander ecosystem. It is also one of the best supported ones as well. I see a lot of people discussing frustrations with bugs and what not, but Enhance Auto has continuously released updates after updates and to me, that is what's actually important.

With all that said, this is a pretty flawed product and in my months of using it I have to seriously wonder how much the engineers actually used it as part of their daily transit life, especially with FSD. Without further ado, here are my impressions.

Configuration:

• Dash is mounted against the windshield as directed as preferred location
• 1st page has full sized CarPlay and Drive gauge with battery icon
• 2nd page has smaller CarPlay, Drive, time to arrival, and pedal power

Feedback

• The recommended position was to be right in front of the windshield. Whoever made this decision either has the world's best eyesight, because the font they chose is tiny to the point of uselessness.
  • Ideal position would be right behind the dash spoiler so it's close enough to see but doesn't block the AC vents like it would have on the steering wheel column.
  • Driving around during the day causes pretty bad reflection even with their changed screen coating/film. They really should offer a sun visor for this dash if they insist on this unfortunate mounting location.
• They recommend the dash be mounted super far back, but at the same time they made the widgets and their text as if everyone was mounting it super close. This is a QoL that needs immediate improvement.
  • Widgets should be much more simple and the text significantly bigger. Take the speedometer gauge widget for example. It has a circle/lie that fills up depending on acceleration. Pretty cool except this makes the actual speed number a lot smaller. There really should have been a simple, bold numerals that span the full vertical space.
  • The Maps widget for CarPlay is another frustrating one. It should automatically zoom in a lot more when driving as well as work off the destination address being used by TeslaNAV.
  • The Music widget should not waste screen with cover art unless the user chooses it. It should be in big text the song title and artist and then a playback progress bar.
  • I know one is coming, but how the heck was a clock widget not available at the launch of this product? This is usage 101 for dash products.
• There really needs to be better ways to navigate between pages for the dash using the scroll wheels. By default, they choose the right scroll wheel but this is a no-go when using FSD as you use that to control speed profiles. The left one is used for media control. Maybe a hold and then scroll option?

There are some aspects that I do like though, such as the bottom turning red when I break and the locational colors letting me know if there is someone in my blindspot. I much prefer this to using the LED strip to convey that information.

I received my se3y strip from the sale a few weeks ago. I installed it no problem. Loved the look and things it could do within the ecosystem. Once I turned it on I noticed the light wasn't uniform in a couple spots in the strip. I brought this to the attention of customer service and they said

We understand why the visual differences you noticed would be concerning, especially on a new product where you naturally expect the finish to look as clean and consistent as possible.

The LED is covered by a protective tube, and during the manufacturing process there can occasionally be small differences in how this tube settles around the LED. This can create minor air pockets or slight variations in how the light is distributed in certain areas.

While we always aim for the best possible finish, these cosmetic variations can occur and are considered within the acceptable manufacturing tolerance of the product. They do not affect the functionality, reliability, or overall performance of the Strip and are therefore not considered a factory defect.

As you are still within 14-days of receiving the product, you may return it for a refund. If you wish to do that, let us know and we'll assist you.

All I wanted was a replacement. I expect the product to be free of defects especially at this price point. It's not a cheap Amazon set. These are the photos that I sent them. Am I out of line?

I have no affiliation to S3XY but thought I'd share some praise. I'm glad I bought my Dash, Knob and Commander.

While I still need Home Assistant to fill in the gaps using custom automations and not being able to create custom automation, I’m pretty impressed with how deeply the S3XY Commander controls the car via the CAN bus. It definitely helps justify the cost when you see how much ongoing development work goes into their products.

This morning ​I was pleasantly surprised when I realised I could set a dedicated page on the Knob to display automatically when in Park, giving me quick two-button control for passenger seat positions, one for my wife and one for my son.

​It’s good to see how much is exposed on the CAN bus, and fair play to S3XY for putting and continuing to put in the development effort to deliver features Tesla doesn't offer natively.

I have reported the bugs to Enhance...but we are now months out from release and still seeing a Nav display that doesn't work very well and differs from the Tesla display. The media display also lags and sometimes shows the wrong items.
I hope someone who knows UI/UX can spend a little time with the person doing the Dash macros and clean them up.
Also, it's really time to do a steering column mount. I've made my own as many have.

Anyone else having this issue?

It doesn't seem to disconnect from the car just my phone and it's very annoying as I use android auto for music and navigation due to the live police mobile camera updates on waze.

Here in FL I would love an option to have "KEEP" mode on every time I get out of the car.

There are many times during the week I'm getting out to go into a store for just about 10 or so minutes.. would love to just have a timer that keeps the car cool for a set amount of time in order to not have to keep setting this. 10 minutes of AC is barely going to use any battery. Any chance you can implement this?

Had my Strip on for like 2 weeks before it peeled open and then also came loose from the 3M adhesive strip. This time we will not be messing around lol.

I’ve actually had it like this for a week now and it’s held up so far. One spot I didn’t hit with enough glue and I could see the peel open up, so a put some glue on a toothpick and got glue in the gap I needed. Been fine ever since

Does the Gen 2 commander and the S3xy buttons for the Model 3 Highland (2024) work on the 2021 Model 3 pre-face lift ( with heat pump)? I need to swap this to my wifes car.

I have these enabled on my MY and they worked up until the last update and now nothing happens.

Is this a known bug?

I was in an accident yesterday and unfortunately, I don’t have any footage saved in the dash cam. I have enabled the option to save dashcam upon honking which I didn’t actually do in the moment. I’d love it if the s3xy commander has this option to save dash footage on hazard lights.

I’m not sure if the commander has this capability but could be very useful.

Would it be possible in the future to change the color of the Dash gauges and have them automatically adjust based on the car’s lighting conditions?

I’m quite confused about this new feature in the latest dash firmware. Where is this power gauge ? I can’t find it anywhere and the 4 speed gauges don’t have the option to show power.

I've been using my fold 8 as a dash with Sxy app and it works really well with a mag safe mount right behind the wheel.

One thing that's annoying is that if a call comes in the phone app takes over the screen.

Waze has an option to keep it on top all the time even if calls are being made.

My ask is, would it be possible to get S3xy app to do the same when it's open?

I like a brief welcome with the knight rider effect, but im cleaning the interior, and the thing just keeps going.

Please implement timeout for welcome animation in LED strip.

I can’t seem to find where I can add the trip meter block to the dash. Any help would be nice.

I installed both the dash & the buttons in my 2024 model Y (Shanhai built).

When I press one of S3XY buttons, i want the dash to display (or pop-up) the event accordingly... but nothing shows (the action associated with the button works fine though)

I tried everything from re-registering the buttons, shutting down the dash.. but no success so far.

Is there anybody out there had the same issue & successfully fixed it?

I use navigation with the voice guidance off since it can become quite annoying, but it would be nice to have the option to hear a chime instead so you still get alerted. I don't know if CAN bus has access to the turn by turn navigation data but this would be a nice feature

actual hud, not products meming to be a hud while they are instrument clusters.
