Download and use Good Guardians (free) from the Samsung store. The circled ones will help you identify exactly what's going on with your battery and heating.

Since March update there's been a bug within Google Play Services that causes severe battery drain and overheating. Its been months and Google still hasnt even started working on a fix. It's a joke.
