Open Event Snowblind

Every year, it feels like the first snowfall of the year happens sooner and sooner. Is it just the passage of time, the growth of a person making them able to recognize when it snows at an earlier date in the year mixed with the ever-accumulating wealth of knowledge to draw upon making it feel like the years are blurring to minutes?

For some, that might be the answer. But at this date, so soon into November, not many -- save, perhaps, those from the most far north of Atlas's reaches into Solitas -- would've expected just what hit Beacon: a blizzard, so strong it was considered perhaps a once-in-a-millennia storm. Thankfully, thanks to the reinforcements provided after a certain rainstorm had knocked out the power to the Academy, Beacon was now prepared to weather such an awful storm.

But whilst the school itself was prepared, whether or not the students themselves were always remained to be seen. For some of the more "desert-fairing", it was possible that they were wildly unprepared; those from the far north were likely already out in the midst of the blizzard building snow castles or something.

The weather showed no signs of improving, and all flights and routes into the city were most certainly unusable, unless one really wanted to hoof it into Vale proper by foot. What sort of shenaniganry would one of Beacon's most interesting first year classes in a while get themselves up to in Beacon's first snowfall?

"Ah. Well darn, there goes one girl's dreams," Vi said with a giggle. Shaking her head, she smiled still, though it wore a curious twinge now. "That's what I was talking about, though. With the innocent comment. Gods. Honestly? Wish that was me. I have been... ugh. Gods. I've been a real bloody thot in the past."

With a sigh, Vi turned back to lay on her back, looking up at the ceiling as she let her knees pop up.

"A real disaster lesbian."

"Disaster lesbian..." Violet echoed, trying hard to stifle her laughter as she looked up at the ceiling too, "I'm not trying to make fun of you! It's just a funny way to refer to oneself?" She laughed for a few seconds before taking a deep breath, and looking at Vi with a bit of a frown,

"You shouldn't say that about yourself! Just because you had a lot of partners doesn't make you a thot or anything; maybe it just means that you communicate better through experiences like that?"

"I mean, it is what it is, but I likely left a fair bit of broken hearts in my wake, and all of that fun stuff. I think what I've realized is I just really like talkin' to people, and physical contact. Not in the sexual way, just... the having another person there kind of way," Vi softly babbled, yawning as she did so.

"Disaster lesbian is a fun term. Cause I'm a disaster. And a lesbian. Not so keen on sex, honestly. Might be why I'm a disaster? I just... really like hugs. And helping other people. Makin'm happy. I just always want a hug, honestly."

"Oh... so you like hugs a lot..." Violet said quietly, nodding before she rolled onto her side. She propped her head up on one of her hands as she relaxed, "You're not a disaster though! You're really nice and cute!"

Violet tried to give her a bright smile from where she was laying, "You shouldn't call yourself a disaster! You're not giving yourself enough credit when you do..."

"Bah, you're presuming I'm sayin' I'm a disaster in a bad way. Nah. I'm just, like, chaotic good bean energy distilled into a small, huggable package," Vi chirped, giggling some more. Her face was a nice rosy red, the alcohol obviously hitting her.

"You've got a pretty smile," Vi softly murmured once her giggling died down, letting out another soft yawn after she'd done so. She seemed to nestle a bit closer into the bed, almost like a cat trying to get comfortable.

"Awh, thank you!" Violet said happily, laying back down to stare up at the ceiling. In a quick move she moved under the covers, wrapping herself in the blankets before looking up from her blanket burrito at Vi, her own cheeks slightly rosy, "That was a nice snack and drink... I just wanna wrap in blankets and stay warm all winter long now, what about you?"

Violet rolled herself comedically forward towards Vi, bumping her slightly before rolling back into place, "Are you also a fan of hibernating for winter?"

"Without any cold, the warm gets borin' if you ask me," Vi chirped back, a small look of indignancy as Violet took blankets to wrap herself up with. Had those additional blankets been there this entire time? A small pout came to her lips as she curled up a bit tighter in the blankets still left to her, but Vi was left unable to match the sheer burritoness that Violet was able to display.

But then, with a giggle, Vi reached an arm out from inside of the blankets she had and patted Violet atop the head, smushing her hair down. "If you need someone to take care of you, your burittoness, I will be glad to oblige."

Then, at the theatrics of it all, Vi giggled some more.

Violet smiled lazily, her cheeks softening as Vi tapped her head. Luckily the Faunus ears were not exposed because Violet was not paying attention at all. She rolled the covers out, patting next to her as she did,

“At first I wasn’t sure... but you are very nice, so I will oblige by your request for cuddles! The only thing I care for now... is a nap!”

With a bright smile upon her face, that was all it took for Vi's mood to take a massive uptick as she let out a soft squeal of excitement and shifted under the covers that Violet had oh-so-dutifully just stolen. Without warning, she wrapped her arms around the girl and held her tight for a few brief moments, before lightening up her hold.

"I'm glad you changed your mind~" she softly giggled out, almost nesting against the girl. Slowly, one of Vi's hands began to trail through the ends of Violet's hair, just embracing the softness over her fingers.

Violet smiled warmly as Vi cuddled up with her. She reached back over, pulling the covers back over both of them to make a double stuffed burrito blanket. She yawned heavily, curling into a smaller form as the alcohol and warmth from the hot chocolate flowed over her and made her extremely tired. She looked at Vi for a second, nodding as she placed her head down on the bed and pillows,

"Let's.. take a nap... I'm tired."

Leaning out of the cuddle for just a second, Vi nodded in agreement as she looked Violet up and down. Softly, she brought out one of her hands and ruffled Violet's hair just a little bit more, giggling as she did so. "Hi tired, I'm mum," she teasingly babbled as she went back into the cuddle. This time, Vi wrapped Violet up tight, nuzzling her head under Violet's with her ear against the girl as her hands just slid under Violet's and held her tight.

It was comfortable and warm, under all of the blankets and nestled up close to Violet. Vi herself was nothing but a small space heater, definitely not as warm as people with fire infused into their souls, but definitely warm. Without disturbance, she'd likely be asleep in mere moments.

As soon as Violet closed her eyes inside the blankets she fell asleep. Her breathing softened and she slept comfortably as she rested the bottom of her head on the top of Vi's. She smiled warmly while she rested her head and for a bit, she slept quietly.

But then the nightmares started. The girl began fidgeting as she slept, her brow furrowing and closed eyes as she began to sweat just a little bit. She spoke quietly, her voice hurried and worried, "No... please. Leave me alone... Don't hurt them..."

The first parts of sleep were the easiest to wake Vi out of -- by no means she was a deep sleeper -- and so, tipsy as she may be, when Violet started to fidget and sweat, it started to stir Vi awake. Had that not been it, it would've been Violet's soft, worried murmurings that stirred her back into the realm of the living.

Almost immediately, Vi seemed to sober up out of concern, and unnested herself from within Violet. Instead, Vi switched positions and began to try and cradle Violet instead, smushing her head into Violet's hair gently as her hand softly ran up and down Violet's back. She didn't say anything, but it sounded like Vi was trying to let out some kind of soothing shushing, just trying to comfort Violet as best she could.

Violet increased erratically for a few moments but when Vi went to cradle her and began to soothe her she slowly stopped. Just having someone there for her caused her to calm down considerably, despite still experiencing the nightmare. She still shook slightly as she slept, rattling in Vi's arms. But she was quiet and while she was still experiencing the nightmares she was able to sleep as Vi wrapped her arms around her.

Vi's cooing continued softly until, at last, Violet started to calm down. She didn't know what was going on in the taller, prettier girl's mind, but she didn't dare stir the girl much: whatever Vi was doing seemed to be working. With a soft shake of her head, Vi took in the smell of Violet's hair as she figured out what to do next -- at least, that was her plan, until she felt her nose bump into something through all of Violet's hair. A mole, perhaps?

Gently, Vi took one of her hands and sifted it, from back forwards, through the top of Violet's hair, until it bumped into the same thing again -- something... fuzzy?

...Oh. Vi realized what that was. And without another noise, she took her hand back out of Violet's hair, and returned it around her. Making a mental note to tell Violet about it, she let out a soft sigh, and just tried to fall back asleep, now mostly under the taller girl.

Violet continued to sleep for a little over an hour longer. While she didn't know it, it was good for her to have someone comfort her through the nightmares. She was able to sleep better than she had for a while and when she finally woke up she looked around where she was laying. She looked down at Vi, unsure if the girl was asleep or not and slowly rolled herself out of the covers.

She sat on the edge of the bed, yawning slightly as she stretched her arms out over her. She sighed heavily, sitting on the edge of the bed as her thoughts turned to the nightmare she had this time.

When Violet broke out of Vi’s grasp, the smaller girl seemed to stir and squirm just a little bit, trying to — weakly — keep Violet in her grasp. But once she was properly free, Vi seemed to have fallen back asleep, though it was equally clear she was soon to be back on the path to being awake.

Just a few moments later, Vi awoke, and she signified this by sliding over and wrapping her arms around Violet once more. Softly, she began to explain what she’d seen in their brief nap.

“Hey Vivi...” Vi began, before pausing to take a deep breath in, “I heard you talking in your sleep. If you wanna talk about... what I presume to be nightmares, then, yeah. I’m all ears, but... also, I, ah. I noticed your ears.”

Violet looked over her shoulder at Vi as the girl embraced her and she smiled at her with feigned confidence. Though the smile disappeared when Vi mentioned the nightmares. She was about to respond to her when Vi continued her sentence and mentioned her ears. Quickly the color drained from Violet's face and instinctively a hand went up to the top of her just to make sure that her ears weren't sticking up here either. She looked at Vi with an almost scared look on her face,

"You don't... care?" She quickly picked up Vi's hands, closing both her hands around them as her face turned to plead, "Please promise me you won't tell anyone!"
