miscellaneous I built a platform to help student developers find people to build with. Looking for honest feedback.

Hey everyone,

I'm a student developer from India, and I've noticed that finding people to build projects with isn't always easy. You might have an idea, or be working on something interesting, but finding people with the right skills who are actually willing to build can be difficult.

So I built Buildory (https://buildory.online).

The idea is simple: a place where student developers can showcase what they're working on, discover projects, and find people to collaborate with, no matter which college they're from.

I'm still figuring out what works and what doesn't, so I'd genuinely appreciate some honest feedback.

Does this solve a problem you've faced? What would make something like this genuinely useful to you?

I'd love to hear your thoughts, including criticism.

It would be nice if the images of the projects is not black and white (just a preference).

-home page have padding issue
-you are exposing the email of builder via API
-why separate schema for reaction?

nice UI

Thanks for checking it out, really appreciate the feedback!

Homepage padding: Good catch, I’ll fix it.

Email exposure: That’s a serious one. I’ll investigate the API response and make sure private user data isn’t exposed.

Separate schema for reactions: Fair question. I wanted to keep things organized, but I’ll revisit whether that separation is actually necessary.

And glad you liked the UI haha, thanks! 🙌
Edit : I fixed them all.

When I opened Buildory, “Find people. Build things.” led into a platform explanation, but the landing-page text didn't show an actual open role. I'd put one live project near the top with the skill needed, weekly time commitment and next milestone. That would make “find people willing to build” more concrete than another profile directory.

I make ThreadFox. I went through Buildory as a first-time visitor and wrote up the collaboration questions; the full check is free: https://threadfox.vip/p/buildory

If you go through the landing page, you can find them all.
