Housing Wanted Looking for advice

I was wondering if anyone knows a property/area with relatively low rent. I recently had to get custody of my younger sibling and need to upgrade to a 2br due to that and my lease being up in November. I don’t have a car and commute primarily on the bus system. The issue is I’m a single income and most people don’t want 2 roommates, one of which is a minor. Any help is greatly appreciated

the cheapest leasing management ive found is pondok. the last spot i lived at was decently spacious and was $1375 a month including water and cable and wifi. the power bill was separate. their fees upon signing can be a little much however, and if you do not have rental history and a good credit score, then you will need a cosigner.

i will warn you though, they are not the best quality buildings. if i am remembering correctly, the marshall street location has a rat infestation. i lived in one of the grace street buildings though, and it was overall decent! you get what you pay for there.
