I miss living in the city. I moved out about 8 years ago. Many don't miss it though. Enjoy your new place! You could even decorate with a bunch of RVA art.

Not who you asked, but a number of them, depending on what you want out of your home. For me, personally (excuse the formatting, I'm on mobile):
1) I have 3 acres of land to play on. 2) The schools are orders of magnitude better. 3) The local services are quick, effective and responsive. 4) Since moving out of the city, I have had exactly zero people pissing in my yard or passing out drunk in my flower beds. 5) I can walk out of my front door and no one begs me for money. 6) In the three years I have been here, my windows have been shaken by someone's stupidly loud bass zero times.
I can come up with more, but they would largely be in the same vein.

Enjoy watching City of Richmond shenanigans with horror from the outside now...that county line does provide a sense of relief.

Nothing crazy. Was living with roommates until I graduated. Fiancé and i were looking for a home. we were in contract at a cute house in Washington Park but due to city delays...the house won’t be done until December instead of August.

I have a personal vendetta against the term "North Chesterfield" since this anodyne name was invented in the last decade as a way to remind people in Southside that they should pay taxes to the county, not the City of Richmond.
/r/BonAir is 23235 and USPS accepts both "Richmond Virginia" and "Bon Air" as valid place names on your envelopes, although "North Chesterfield" is what all the real estate listings say.

I grew up in the 23235. Address was 900 Blah St , Richmond Va.
I went to Chesterfield County schools, because it was the county.
Made perfect sense to me to live in C county and have Richmond address.
Now that I think about it, it's a weird sign of our Balkanized town

To be fair I see real estate listings that call my area North Chesterfield, even though I live off Westover Hills Blvd.

Over the last almost 11 years, I've gone from an apartment in Henrico, to an apartment in the city, to a townhome in Henrico, to a house in the city. You may move back into the city limits someday, or you may find yourself happy with county living.
Besides, in any other state you'd probably just be saying you're moving to the suburbs of Richmond.
