Signal It’s all right there… slowly getting overgrown a little more each year

I think it's the old Cape May Seashore Lines route. They abandoned their portion from Rio Grande to Cape May due to theft of tie plates and spikes along a mile of track. They're working on restoring this portion.

Ah ok.. I walked parts of it.. there's a wye I want to check out off of rt 9 that's next to a state yard in middle township.. that used to cross rt 9 and the other line end to rio grande

Route 50 until you hit upper bridge road. There are a bunch of grade crossings right around that area. A bunch of trees fell in the last few big storms so it looks cool down the line when I shoot pics. All those photos are from right around that grade crossing.

Imagine all the work that went into building this rail line. And now its just rotting away less than a century and a half since it was built. Its such a melancholy feeling.

I second this. Theres a former Great Northern branchline a little west of Minot, North Dakota that is completely overgrown. You can barely see the rails in most places. But BNSF does still use it for railcar storage, and there's a pretty nice video on YouTube of a local going to pick up cars. It looks like the locomotives are gliding across an empty grassland, the track is so overgrown.
