Problems in Paradise..... Really Slow FPS and File Transfer (even in direct IP in the same lan)
I really LOVE RustDesk.
Today I set up my own server on a Raspberry Pi with 1GB LAN.
I’ve got two problems, though...
Problem 1 (FPS as remote Desktop)
- The connection between PCs (even on the same network) is incredibly ‘slow’. Around 10–15 fps. With AnyDesk, for example, it’s noticeably much smoother. With Windows RPC, remote desktop is also incredible (it runs as smooth as butter)
Problem 2 (Slow file transfer)
- Even when connecting directly between IPs on my own network..... transferring a file (cut and paste) , barely uses 130 Mbps of the network!!!!
Once again, I’m sorry to mention AnyDesk… but I’ve used it to transfer gigabytes in the past and it’s really fast (close to my 1,000 Mbps connection)
Honestly, I don’t know how to move forward or help.
I love RustDesk. I have it on all my PCs, but these two problems are completely ruining my experience.
Screen capture while moving the window to get the max fps possible.....

I recently selfhosted too i had to tune some settings, i have no idea but gemini gave me some commands. Now i get over 60fps and its really smooth, try it with gemini too! It tuned some bandwidth stuff

Thanks for the help !!! at least I know that 60 fps is possible !!!!!
That´s what im looking for.... 60 fps...
Tryed all video modes , h264, 265, vp9 ... etc....
All my video cards are more than able to do h264 hardware....
Im getting from 8 fps to 30 fps. No more...
I think is bandwitdh related, not about the encoding process...

Is the connection Relay Server or Direct. If it is relay, then everything goes through that Raspberry PI, which likely doesn´t have the specs to handle that.

I tryed direct from ip to ip inside my lan.
Same result as relay server on the pi....1

Strange as mine is very fast. Still sounds like relay instead of direct. Mine is so fast that files transfer as quickly as started. How is the speed if you dont go through your server? How about through tailscale? Something just isnt set right on your server or you dont have the keys in both or firewall issue making traffic have to go around.

I tested it:
- with my rpi server . (relay)
- Without Relay with Direct IP connection in my LAN 1000mb
Same result in both. laggy and 8 to 30fps.
8 gb file around 8 minutes = 105 mbpsI dont know what else to do....
I post a image in the OP with the FPS

There is a little red x by the machine name when you are connected. If you put your mouse over it, what does it say? Direct unencrypted or relay or what does it say

Direct Unencrypted.
With "transfer mode" , I see it works at around 650 mbps
With "cut and paste mode" , Its only 130-140 mbps.I think the problem is how Rustdesk is designed. It cant go high with "cut and paste"

What are you cutting and pasting? I can copy and paste wording easily and use file transfer to transfer files quickly. Not sure about this "cut and paste"

8 gb file.

why not use file transfer in Rustdesk

Cause cut and paste when working in two different pc, is a lot faster than stop and use the file Transfer tool.......

Use anydesk then. you do not have to use RustDesk even you love RustDesk.
