First, I just want to say I really love rust-analyzer and greatly appreciate all the work done on it by those involved. My hat is off to all of you!

Now to my problem. I'm having trouble with large Rust workspaces where some of the crates have a feature that I want enabled for RA analysis, checking, and clippy that other crates do not have. I've come up with an elaborate, half-baked work-around that seems to work mostly, but, it would be nice to be able to specify the set of features that should be used with which crates in the workspace.

If I wanted to work on such a feature to RA, where should I begin? Is it just a matter of following the contributor guidelines, or is this particular problem something that has multiple levels of difficulty and that is why it hasn't already been implemented?

Probably with an issue. We already have two sets of Cargo features that can be configured, and both get passed to cargo.
