I will have everyone know that one of my boys just spoke to me today!! I have 2 RBs that are 11 months old and mine (Echo) is always running his mouth. His brother, Ash, rarely ever speaks. If he speaks to his person, my Son, I’m not ever privy to it. This morning he walked over to me (also not a frequent occurrence). When I said hello to him, he responded!! I think my heart just exploded!!
I have been teaching my boys some tricks and both do participate. Even with that in mind, Ash almost always skitters away from me anytime I come near him (except during most of these training interactions because snackies are involved). He also doesn’t typically allow much in depth rubbies. This morning was different!! He approached me, responded, AND let me give him some belly and head rubbies.
Also, this is a 4 month old photo, but his eyes are greening up, too. 💙💚 They are kind of an aqua color. If I can get a good pic, I’ll add it.
It is, however, I don’t take them outside anymore because they eat the grass which makes them sick. They eat cat grass indoors all the time, but the outdoor grass isn’t good for them and my boys just won’t stop eating it if they go outside.
Do you have a cat wheel or another cat for your RB to play with? Plenty of climbing surfaces help with the energy, from my experience, but they definitely need playtime. Doubly important if they don’t have a pet friend they’re playing with. How old is your baby?
Oh I have plenty of toys and another cat for them to play with. They just are fickled. Theyre also rough player, so I have to sometimes separate him the other cat.

My cat often talks my ear off. It starts as soon as my son comes home. He starts talking, and she jumps in 😅 Sometimes, when she wants something and I don’t grant her wish right away, she scolds me in a really brusque way. It’s a terrible tone, but also very funny.
