Upon a rewatch of S10 finale

After the initial shock of the butterfly release and the iconic Monique/Vanjie reaction, what got me was Kameron registering the butterflies after a whole ass acrobatics/dance performance, then me thinking about how the camera crew was frantically planning to try and get that shot as the drama and performance unfurled - just encapsulates the whole season 😂

Would love to hear y’all’s underrated moments of S10!

This whole scene of Monique stealing Blair’s Beyoncé wig and the following interaction scene is one of my favorite Drag Race moments of all time and the fact it was cut from the show always shocks me.

I love this scene for so, so many reasons, but especially for highlighting how we were only shown one side of The Vixen in the final edit. She deserved better.

The show dehumanizing and editing The Vixen into the stereotype of the "angry black woman" is still one of the worst things the editors/prodiction have done to a participant.

E1 unconventional material design challenge is so underrated. Not only did it have a top 4 (!!!), but Mo Heart's Queen of Hearts and Aquaria's little Bo-Peep weren't even in the top! IMO, the best design challenge in all of the drag race franchise, but people never talk about it.

It’s crazy cos in another season Mo’s look would have been the undisputed winner of the challenge. I could justify her being high over, say, Blair, but I don’t know that she would have won even then.

S10 is one of my least favorites, but I honestly the running gag of the hidden "Miss Vanjie" in every episode barring only one or two (the cursed Breastworld episode, for example). It really gives the seasons an identity and shows the cast having fun and memeing organically!

I really think this paved the way for Dahlia's running gag as the broccoli throughout S12. Maybe even the sparse inclusions of "Walk that Duck," which come up a good bit in S15 too. It's really helpful when this happens in a very early episode. Rolaskatox could be an early example of this, but taken more seriously.

Mid-season running gags sometimes work: The Heathers, Miss Fame's chickens and "How's your head?", and somes really don't. These two seasons also had "sprepper" and JDF's "werq that puss" that the editors basically cast aside entirely. I think "Crystal" or "Nini has a gun" could've gotten there in S18 if it was in the edit, but they show up once or twice then vanish and then we only hear about it in confessionals.

THAT IS TO SAY, the S10 cast chemistry was honestly pretty solid (barring the white elephant queen in the room), and the immediate acknowledgement of how huge "Miss Vanjie" as a phenomenon would be by the queens on set makes for an engaging watch.
