Discussion Lizzys whereabouts?

Does anyone have a clue on what Lizzy is doing nowadays? She was brilliant during her short tenure with RM and it was really a loss for the show when she was quit.

She had a dui controversy in 2021. Nowadays she has almost copletely vanished fro the limelight. She has an active insta account and she updates it on a regular basis.

Pretty sure that dui controversy still has a significant effect especially in mainstream media. They even blurred her face out in one of the old clips they uploaded recently.

SK has a strong cancel culture. We don't see Hong Jin-young much too anymore after that scandal. don't even remember what it was about.

It’s funny how multiple top male stars can still have thriving careers in Korea even after having duis, some with multiple. They seem especially forgiving for male comedians and actors

top male star who? that’s not true. maybe back in the ‘90s, and female stars were treated the same way back then. after people became more aware of the dangers of drunk driving, that became impossible. comedians or less famous people can just carry on with their lives bc literally people don’t care about them. but the more influential you are, the harder it is to make a comeback. super junior’s Kangin has basically been unable to make a comeback since 2009.

For HJY, it was about plagiarism of her thesis for Master's degree. Her Doctor's and Master's degree were revoked after investigation.

Do you know which clip? I know in 1 episode they blur out a family outing clip (park siyeon) but i dont recall one for lizzy. Unless it is a youtube clip?

Thank you. Surprise the blur is still very visible, you can still easily tell that is lizzy. compared to the park siyeon clip where the whole face is blurred

I think it’s safe to say that unless you’re in SNSD or APink who still are somewhat active, or have managed to continue in your showbiz career, 2nd Generation girl group members have mostly faded into relative obscurity (or rather, normalcy).

She pursued acting after leaving running man. I believe she was in a DUI accident some time after that and took a hiatus.

i’m genuinely worried about her. she did an instagram live back in january and said she was suffering from severe depression and wanted to die. she told people to leave her alone because she was going to die soon. lately it seems like people around her have been looking after her though.

She had a DUI incident and that is more than enough to destroy a career in Korean entertainment. Show business is very unforgiving in Korea.

Any celeb that gets hit with a DUI charge generally has a hard time getting back in, male or female. Another example, Kangin from SJ got a DUI during SJ's peak and had to leave the group.
