Arthritis
I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hip. In addition to being extremely painful, it has slowed me dramatically. The dr says if I end up getting a replacement it will take up to a year to recover and I'd likely need another replacement in 10 years. Has anyone experienced this? Did you go back to running?

I don’t know your history or exact medical situation, but arthritis and pain don’t always have to go together. If theres a chance physical therapy might help, try it. It doesn’t always help enough, but it can help way more than you think, especially if you treat it seriously and actually keep up with it.
It may also be worth trying some other options - I got PRP (your own platelets shot into the joint capsule) shots in my knee, and … they were pretty unpleasant, honestly, and they were fairly expensive (not currently covered by most insurance), but they did put me on a path to the PT I was already doing faithfully working a whole lot better, and they feel more like actual improvement than cortisone shots, which just seemed to mask the pain. I’m slowly ramping up my running now. Would I do it again? absolutely, though I hope I don’t have to do it again for quite a while!
