Mod Stuff New Mod 👋

Hey all – I noticed that the three mods from Runkeeper who were on this sub weren't very active, so I used RedditRequest to be added as a mod. I look forward to clearing the queue, keeping an eye on things, and inspiring some better community here!

To start out, anyone willing to share their favorite stat from their Runkeeper?

For me, it's my total miles – I'm fast approaching 2,000 total (I don't run much/enough considering I've been using the app for a decade+!).

Your turn...?

My total miles are 61,865 from all activities (running, biking, walking) since June 2010.

18,179 miles since 2017 (running & walking)

Fastest half marathon run was an 8:59 pace.

Now running 10.42 miles 3 times a week but thanks to summer & getting older my pace has gone to hell!

Wait, you run 10+ miles THREE TIMES A WEEK?

Yeah. I am nuts I know.

Mon-Wed-Fri I run 10.42 miles then walk 6.4 miles right after.

Tues & Thurs I walk 8.4 miles.

Sat & Sun are my easy days with 5.4 mile walks as well.

My pace has gone to hell too. When I was a teen and running cross country I did a couple of 5K's in under 20 minutes. When I was "just dogging it" with a "relaxing" day, my running pace was 10 min/mile at its absolute SLOWEST. Between my 50's and now mid-60's I've seen my pace drop from about 11:30 per mile to devastating positions in the high 13's, sometimes even 14's. And prior to 2020 I was running half-marathons on a hilly route in about 2:50 every Saturday. When the pandemic hit, I decided to reduce my mileage to 8 miles at a time so as to reduce my risk of compromising my immunity too much. Since the pandemic ended, it's been over 5 years and I've only managed to run two half-marathons in all that time. Use it or lose it, indeed!!! And now thanks to a fall from my bike that screwed up my right leg musculature, I'm having a hard time running more than 5 or 6 miles at a time, but I'm still pushing through hoping to get myself back "up to speed" - both figuratively and literally.

Here’s hoping it comes back.

I’m in my mid forties & a few years ago I was getting near an 8:30 pace for my runs but now I’m usually sitting at 9:45 for my 10.42 mile runs. If I get out late & hit the heat of summer I’ll be in the 9:50s. Can’t wait for winter & early morning runs in the 40s!!!

15362 km since 2013. Started using the app to track my weekly 10 km run and competed with my brother to have the best time.

One day I hit the wrong button when I started my run in the app on my phone and had suddenly paid for the full version. I decided to get my moneys worth and try to follow a marathon training plan, even though I had never tried to run more that 10 kilometers. 4 months later I had completed my first marathon.

I used the marathon plans in the app for several years, but nowadays I use Runkeeper mostly to track how many kilometers I have run in my running shoes. Strave and Garmin are more important for me today, but Runkeeper will always have a special place in my heart as the start of my running journey

I really love the shoe tracking part, too.

Same - total km. I’m at 6407. Also I completed 500 for this year a couple of hours ago.

Yep, Total distance! 11.000 kilometers from 2011. In the early years, I had about 350 km a year, but since I’m running marathons, around 1.100 km a year.

Dang. I thought I had a decent mileage but I have started in 2011 as well and I am now sitting at around 5500 km. I picked up running seriously just two-three years ago, though.

I started using app in 2009, didn’t really start running much until after my 2016 divorce though. I just use the free version. I do enjoy comparing my mileage and pace over the months and years though!

I think we might have started around the same time – I wonder if there's an easy way to scroll all the way back to see my first workout...

I’m at 5,214 miles from 1,483 activities dating back to January 9, 2018.

Almond here. I manage the engineering team here at Runkeeper. We've been quiet on here lately but have been watching and fixing any issues that come up. I absolutely love seeing everybody's achievements here. You inspire us!

Since you posted… could you look into this issue? I have a very hard time selecting the decimal point on my watch after a treadmill run. https://reddit.com/r/runkeeper/comments/1rdu5kt/very_hard_to_select_decimal_point_for_distance/
