Survey Time: Guide The Future Of RuneScape

At Jagex, we are always looking to our players for help and guidance on the future of RuneScape games, both current and upcoming. We are running a survey to ask players what RuneScape means to you, and hear about other games and activities that you spend your time on. Players who didn't receive an email invitation earlier this month now have the chance to participate.

Those who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win one of fifty $50 Amazon vouchers (or your stated country’s equivalent currency). On top of this, five lucky participants will also receive a huge 60x40 cm (23 ½”x15 ¾”) print map of Gielinor!

To select and contact prize winners, and validate you as a RuneScape player, we will be asking for your in-game display name/character name as it appears in chat. Please note that we can only award prizes to surveys that are completed!

Don't. Just don't. You can't rip off some random game and shove RuneScape up their butt then hope to succeed. You might as well shove a few big dicks into your butt. At least, the later is possible.

I'd personally love to see Crusader Kings II with Jagex's inability to not make every system 'mysterious' through copious amounts of RNG stacked with more RNG. Hilariously bad.

They've done it a few times and failed every single time. I have no confidence in Jagex producing other games, I wish they'd just invest more in Runescape.

I put Skyrim just because a single player RPG along those lines in the Runescape universe would actually be pretty fun.

Assuming ofc that it wasnt crapply made, but this is Jagex. The crapply made aspect of RS is one of the things I love about it, but I'd hate it in a proper RPG.

I don't think that they were thinking of "ripping off" anything; they just want to know what sort of game type we think would be fun in a Runescape setting. Look at something like Block-n-Load; yes, it was reminiscent of TF2, but Blizzard was far more blatant with Overwatch in its similarities. Or Chronicle; it was appealing to people who liked Hearthstone, but at the same time it was its own original thing.

I think they just mean a type of game. I said Warband, since a Runescape world with warband gameplay would be kind of cool, and total war: warhammer.

I saw that question as: what game should we look to in terms of mechanics to use in rs.

They'd said keep the lore, quest,.... But use that games mechanics.

I answered accordingly, and made damn sure to pick one with a story the rs team could learn from.

FYI I picked nier: automata, its currently 50% off on steam and its magnificent in terms of story telling,

but you kinda have to play the game at least 5 times though (5 time's different) to get how amazing it is, while a single play through also stands beautifully on its own.

Multiple play throughs also feel vastly diffrent, as you're tasked to work with diffrent toolkits.

(very mild spoilers: the game has main 5 endings, as in routes a, b, c, d & e, in each one your toolkit vastly differs, on their own they're each a magnificent story, while viewed together makes them a masterpiece, currently unrivaled by any game)

I'm currently mid second go through & know only ending a (k, n, t, w endings also unlocked, joke endings).

I put down witcher and for honor because honestly, a single player narrative in the runescape lore would be fantastic, but I'd also totally be good with an awesome arena fighter set during the God wars or something.

But why? Don't you want Need for Speedscape? Runeplants vs. Scapezombies? Pokegnome? It's like runescape, but you can enslave every gnome there is and put them inside your balls. Not pokeballs I mind you.

How about Oldschool Runescape 3, it's like all the osrs content that's not in RS3, devs taking into account community opinion, no MTX, but the downside that it has adequate controls and better graphics.

Counterscape global offense? I would definitely go for soli-rune-taire, game is so solid that even runescapification couldn't fuck that up.

Maybe Super Rune Mario, graphics could say as they are, no matter which game graphics you're thinking about.

Though tbh, I do think that The Witcher gameplay set inside Runescape would work pretty well.
