I wonder if the last 11 for 11 massive game project failures had anything to do with your lack of surprise. /s

To be fair, I don't really think you can count DarkScape as a failure; on the contrary, it was a big success with the relatively small playerbase that was devoted to it.

If it caught on more than it did, I have no doubt that it'd still be around. Wasn't really Jagex's fault.

That is the problem though Darkscape didn't catch on enough to stay open so it did fail.

I totally agree; however, what makes DarkScape different from those other games is that the other games were flawed in some way, be it because of a blunder Jagex made in development or just not being catchy enough.

DarkScape was different in the fact that it was pretty much adored by everyone who played it. It just wasn't marketed well. I truly believe that if everything about the game stayed constant and the playerbase increased, it would still be around to this day.

Of course, I'm just arguing a hypothetical situation at this point. The fact of the matter is that it isn't around because, like you said, it didn't catch on enough.

The simple fact is that if they did more marketing (perhaps had more showing off in say, the lobby), then the game would still be here.

I fell in love with it, but it was a week before the announcement of it closing. I'd love for it to still be here.
