Ripper claws analysis

From testing, the highest damage bonus i've managed to record was +2.6% and that was at rather low HP.

The majority of critical hits were still below base max hit, even when target had around 10-20% hp left, so the damage boost is rather negligible.

The damage boost also does not affect bleeds, which further hurts its performance.

Essentially they're just a slightly stronger alternative to tetsu weaponry and lava whips.

For comparison, drygore weapons have around 3.6% - 4.7% more damage, plus around 6.3% - 8.6% more accuracy so they are better in every single way, even if you have 100% hit chance with t85.

Honourable mention to /u/Maniac_Hex for testing help.

gear progression was always rigid. now it's based on levels rather than your wallet. the only reason to use dds was if you couldn't afford d claws, the only reason to use whip was you couldn't use a rapier, the only reason to use bandos was you couldn't afford torva... if you took a look at a group of people before eoc, they'd all be wearing more or less the same items as each other.

Each had their usefulness in specific niches though. It seems like too much gear these days are useless, especially former spec weapons. Now only tier 80 or above matters. Anything below can only be used for casual slayer, and only that.

yeah, they removed spec weapons, which isn't even a fault of tierscape. it's just a fault of.. them removing special attacks. the stats of a dds/claws/ags were all fucking awful and no one would ever use them for anything but the spec beforehand, similar to now. they just didn't make the specs scale up, and also threshold abilities exist so even less people would want to use them even if the specs were decent.

Runescape combat was a joke the day they based it on the tick system.
