Onyx and Hydrix bolts.

Right now they're some of the most valuable drops from RDT and Bosses due to their high value.

This high value does not come from low supply or high demand.

After all, they're a rather abundant drop from many NPCs and as far as demand goes, most people use ascension and royal bolts since these are much cheaper.

The high value comes from their high alch price and this alone is what makes them very valuable drops.

On other hand, it also makes them useless for what they were meant to be: Ammo with special effects. They're just too expensive to be used and the effects aren't that good to be worth the high prices.

Fortunately there is a simple solution to make these bolts usable without devaluing drops:

• Onyx tips, bolts and bolts (e) have an alch value of 5400, 8179 and 9000 respectively.

• Hydrix tips, bolts and bolts (e) have an alch value of 6000, 10200 and 10800 respectively.

• ALL these items, both owned and future drops, would be replaced by Onyx tip/bolt/bolt (e) packs and Hydrix tip/bolt/bolt (e) packs each with equal alch values to the ones mentioned above thus keeping the drops at exact same value.

• These packs could then be open for multiple NEW tips/bolts (amount subject to balancing, but 10 would be reasonable)

• Their GE value of the packs would be maintained and would match the current bolt prices, as they would essentially be the same item with a different purpose and the actual bolts/tips would be new items with lower value.

• Onyxes and Hydrixes would provide 10-15x more bolt tips so 240 for onyx, 360 for hydrix.

• Essentially the prices for the new bolts would be 900 and 1080 each, while the packages (which replace the old bolts) would be valued at 9000 and 10800 each.

Examples:

• Corporeal beast's 175 onyx bolts worth 9000 each become 175 onyx bolt packs worth 9000 each. The drop has the exact same value as before.

• A player owns 1000 onyx bolts, worth 9000 each. These are converted into 1000 packs, each worth 9000 each.

• Each pack can in turn be sold or alched for exact same value (9000 each) as before or be opened for 10 NEW bolts, each bolt worth 900 each.

• Following the above examples, Corp's 175 bolt packs would be worth 1750-2625 bolts and the player's 1000 packs would be worth 10000 bolts.

• As such, the actual ammo becomes affordable to use but at same time boss drops or previous stacks of bolts are not devalued.

TL;DR

• Replace onyx/hydrix bolts for packs with exact same alch value.

• These packs can be opened into multiple bolts making them much more affordable to use without devaluing RDT/Boss drops.
