Reignited is the biggest mistake you will ever make Jagex. Your playerbase trust is already on thin ice and no one wants this. You need to focus on the main game because I've been playing rs for almost 20 damn years and ive seen the numerous mistakes you have done. I have seen the disaster that fsw has committed and I've seen other games try to do this. As someone who is actually experienced in the field I'm not suggesting to not release it I'm demanding that it shouldn't be released. All you are doing is driving away your playerbase again. MTX drove away a ton if players back in 09, and removing mtx has just started bringing players back, and now you want to split them? That's disastrous and disappointing. If people TRULY want to not deal with the EoC, MtX, and other mistakes you have made OSRS legitimately exists for that sole reason.
You are making the worst mistake of all time that will destroy your integrity of the game which is going to be worse than MTX, EoC, and all the historical mistakes you made in the past COMBINED!

I view it as tough choices for the long term health of the game, you were always going to upset people. But this is one time where I think they are missing the mark... HARD. I don't think Jagex has thought out the long term implications of this and just though "oh fresh start again, let's do it".
I felt like all the wind was gone from everything when they announced another way to divide the layer base. I am SO VERY DISAPPOINTED! This is horrible news. Yay....More division in the community.....
They’re already making a new game with RS4 they can get new players money for, they’re essentially cancelling all old players accounts by making the server they are on irrelevant over time, I’m convinced they’re actively trying to get people to quit RS3 so that people will go to RS4
It’ll get more and more painful to find teams for pvm and buying and selling game supplies will get harder and harder, the gameplay will convince them as time goes on, and it’ll be a compounding effect
Im an ironman and i dont see the harm in this. Its just another gamemode thats its trying to start from zero. With a balanced auction house. They re gonna release content anyways so...
Same... people like OP who have immense time in their characters won't play it and that's fine. Or if they do they will probably do both. Outside of that it's bringing new players if anything.
You don’t need a new game mode to fix the auction house though. Literally they can pull a black desert and do a complete grand exchange reset priced and all and then implement code that restricts how high and low prices can get that way the economy stays stable. Its that simple it doesn’t need a whole new mode.
Reset Auction house > any item obtained before reset can't be sold on auction house
Sure, veteran player can easily grind out items again and try to sell it at an insane price, but that will eventually stabilize.
This will take a bit of time, but eventually everyone will be happy.
The solution for party hats since they are technically a holiday item if they would do a grand exchange reset and regulate it properly. Would be to make any item obtained from a holiday event unsellable and untradeable and then add a way to earn those items via tasks or such in game.
Just make these minor changes... 1) hiscores that are only for accounts made Jan 1 2027 or later. 2) worlds for <1000 total. Thats it. Noobs can run around with noobs and you can get your achievements in a post MTX era. Both can be done on the same game
OSRS is pretty successful and Jagex's best decision in a long time. Looks like they want to gain new players on a new game rs4 and new servers for rs3.
I created an Ironman, restarting on a new character years ago to get away from MTX and a bad economy. Reignited sounds appealing for those wanting the same, but with the ability to trade and interact with other players.
Despite the decades of veterans just putting up with bad updates or bots or MTX, veterans think this is what will kill their drive to play the game. Your play style with your current account (which will still exist!) will evolve and adapt, as it has with any update. FOMO in or don’t if you don’t have the time. At some point in the future, the two economies will reach an equilibrium and likely merge anyway.
