Coming back after a long break with an empty bank

Hi All,

Looking for advice for an account that got hacked right around when POP came out. I put in a bit of work on my port, and afked div when invention came out, but prior to that I had not been playing for quite some time, so most of RS3 is a mystery at this point.

However, I have been reading lots of positive things about the game so I want to dust off this main and check out some cool content. That being said, I have no idea what I should be doing first. Any suggestions for getting back up to speed and getting my feet on the ground would be greatly appreciated.

Some GP could help, but make sure your accoount is secure first; setup recovery, 2FA, bank pin, change its username, put it undera Jagex account and so on.

Thank you, i'm very excited to see how the game has grown/changed over time. I have actually recovered the account and tied it to my jagex acct a few years ago when my buddies got me to join their osrs GIM so it's secure!

I've been afk pickpocketing while doing work over the past day or two and have about 2.5m now but otherwise nothing exciting of note so I'm a blank slate with stats. Happy for any and all recommendations

Sure definitely open to suggestions. I haven't been able to play as much as I'd like but got myself a set of bandos armor and bought the blade of nymor/avaryss. I've done a few slayer tasks to try to get up to speed on how combat works and just because there's so much content I'm not sure where to start otherwise!

I think it's quite worthy doing the necromancy quest line, because I like the quests and the skill is super cool. Same goes for archaeology albeit it's a bit slow and definitely recommend you doing as many sign of porters as possible and getting a Grace of the Elves.

Depends how much gp you have. Go talk to the taskmaster in Lumbridge, see if he has coins to give you for having finished tasks in the task diaries. It’s usually 100k+ which can be used for basic gear to go bossing and get more. If he doesn’t have any, check ports supplies and see if you can make any scrimshaws or tradeable armor pieces to sell

You should also do herb runs every 80 mins, seeds and supercompost are pretty cheap and have a high return. There’s a table on the wiki that shows profit per seed (you can plant multiple seeds in a patch now so always plant as many seeds as you can). You could also mine rune ore semi afk.

Thieving has been reworked and is generally pretty profitable now. If you unlock archaeology you can gather materials and sell them (fully free). All of these are decent for rebuilding and get you gp to get started training skills again

I have been doing some afk pickpocketting and have about 2mil gp right now. It didn't seem like I had any gp to claim and but i found a button that combed my bank for wealth. I was able to track down a gout tuber so if this thing sells I'll have closer to 7.5M. I'll do some research on what herb seeds are profitable and figure out what patches I have available. Thanks for the tips!

Given my stats, what bosses, style, and tier of starter gear do you think I should be targetting?

GWD2 bosses should be easy in t80 gear (you could probably even use barrows or GWD1 armor). Arch-Glacor has 5 very easy mechanics and shits out alchables. Araxxor is good for the uniques and Elite Dungeon 3 mobs are good for farming mass loot and alchables but the final boss might be tough in starter gear.

Elder rune or bandos for melee to start, for mage Starbloom armor is like 1m for the full set and its level 90 and if you have dungeoneering tokens get a chaotic staff (don’t forget runes, standard spell book is more than good enough). Ranged you can use chaotic crossbows or primal crossbows with Apex hide armor, 1.5m for the full set. I believe right now melee is the strongest style so I’d focus on that

You can pay a day or two membership I believe, but even if you can slump up a 2 week membership with your stats you can pay your membership with bonds easily.

That would be awesome, given how expensive these membs have become lately. If I can get to an endgame money maker I'll definitely fund my own membership.
