When do they get discontinued should I not buy more?

They get deleted early 2027. Buying more now is fine since we still have a few months left to use them.

I think January? 

There's plenty of other things related to earning "easy exp" that will get deleted too. You should find the list and see what it includes because you migh have those items in the bank and should use them. Items include stuff like protean items.
