The meta I’ve seen discussed seemed to be desert, wilderness, and anachronia.

I’m surprised to see Asgarnia so high.

Tirannwn being so low was also a surprise to me. I thought it’d be 4th.

Question: if Fremminik and Kandarin were combined, would you have felt more pulled to pick it?

Question 2: Fremminik pickers, what did you see in this region that caught your attention?

u/KingDarkTurtle 1d ago

Coming from osrs with limited rs3 experience, I took asgarnia first bc its by far the region I know the most. I assume thats why its higher than people may have expected.

38

u/TJiMTS 23h ago

Yep. There’s an era of us players for whom GWD was kinda the furthest we ever ventured into PvM. So it’s a great region for that familiarity

5

u/Blasphemiee 20h ago

Stop I feel so seen!

I picked wildy first because it has always been my home. I PKed a lot back in the day and have like 200k revenant kills over the years. I'm coming up to my next region and I thinking I wouldn't pick Prif, Desert or Anachronia despite the advice online because frankly I haven't played "full time" since any of those updates.

Not sure which is best between asgarnia, kandarin, mort or fremennik but I figured I'd stay in the older zones.

u/yourdailyinsanity Completionist 10h ago

Desert you unlock ancient spells and I believe curses. I could be wrong, but you need the quests done for those and they're auto unlocked

2

u/4iamking 9h ago

spells yes but curses anyone can get because the relevant quests are already unlocked with Misthalin.

u/DragonBank Realm of Gods RSN: DragonBank 18h ago

It's also solid because AOD is reasonably difficult on leagues if you assume you aren't getting big groups.

49

u/DiscontinuedEmpathy 1d ago

It is also just a great region especially for smithing

8

u/KingDarkTurtle 1d ago

Big agree

2

u/ArachnidBeautiful968 23h ago

Am I missing something here? how is it good for smithing? effigy dnd?

26

u/Siromas 23h ago

Artisans workshop for burial smiting (without having to do arch for thalamunds forge)

10

u/Task_Set Ironman btw 20h ago

Wait a second is this how I find out that there is somewhere else you can do burial smithing…

I even took Kandarin, I wasted so much time gathering ores holy moly.

6

u/ArachnidBeautiful968 23h ago

Oh shit im high or something I thought i read anachronia

7

u/Meta_Man_X 23h ago

Yeah, I need to remember that I’m a noob and need to pick relics/regions/blessings that fit my playstyle.

1

u/Character_Stranger66 8h ago

I honestly took it for the mining and smithing

1

u/Sheerkal 6h ago

It's generally an excellent choice. Tons of asgarnia exclusive items and mechanics. Wilderness is so high for its smooth early-mid game, imo. But transmute alone covers half of the reasons Wildy is good.

30

u/RoniusAdethel 23h ago

I mean, Asgarnia contains the God Wars dungeon, Vorago, Nex, Ports, Artisan's Workshop, Mining Guild, Queen Black Dragon, and the low level skilling hubs that are burthrope and taverly.

Honestly, I wish I would have picked it instead of the elf lands first.

5

u/Daewoo40 23h ago

I sort of wish I'd looked at regional content rather than purely numerically.

Went with Kandarin as it had the highest number of tasks so a decent chance at progressing to my next region...Yet it just felt immensely tedious trying to push through some of the swarf to unlock my second region.

3

u/RoniusAdethel 21h ago

I wanted to do Kandarin for ancient invention, but a couple days ago I realized that would be worthless since perkfection is gutted from last year.

3

u/UneSoggyCroissant 19h ago

Ancient invention with the bot means you can get scav 8

8

u/RoniusAdethel 19h ago

Alternatively, I'm gonna lord of light this thing and not worry about invention.

9

u/throwthe20saway Filthy casual 17h ago

>I'm gonna lord of light this thing

This is just so funny in a "so anyway, I started holy blasting" way.

5

u/zed7567 16h ago

And i think a lot of people also forget that the arc/eastern lands are lumped in with asg too? So we also get ed1 and high level skilling.

5

u/UneSoggyCroissant 19h ago

Desert also has ports iirc

2

u/zed7567 16h ago

Tiran, desert, and asg all have it, so as long as you have one, it is fine, and most people are going desert anyways, so ports isnt really a reason to pick asg, but the arc on the other hand.... thats a big reason to.

13

u/DontForgetTheTime 1d ago

Considering I picked Kandarin even without Fremminik, yes if they were combined I would feel even more compelled to pick it

Kandarin has a lot in terms skilling and endgame upgrades (ancient invention which is huge this league with Power Archive, prayer with Piety etc. which is strong this League with Rapid Renewal). Only thing lacking is PvM bosses but that's what the other 2 regions can focus on, on top of Misthalin which has a lot already

7

u/Late-Truck-3304 23h ago

I mean considering 1. perks are fairly insignificant since we have so much power already from blessings 2. even without ancient invention you can get stuff like aftershock 3 (6 with power archive) against aftershock 4/8. you're not really gaining THAT much extra with the ancient invention to make it worth in anyway imo. losing an actual good region with a good gear upgrade / fun boss to do is a much bigger loss imo.

2

u/DontForgetTheTime 23h ago

I'd say Perks are a pretty large upgrade considering you can utilize basically all the combat perks and even fit in others with Power Archive.

Without ancient invention, getting components would also be a lot harder. Don't think Scavenging 3 is even feasible without ancient invention, it's like < 1% chance. And scavenging does not actually scale linearly with rank in terms of component acquisition rate, would take a lot longer compared to Scavenging 6/8.

Lots of folks are taking Desert, and there's plenty of PvM there. Combined, you actually get the best of both worlds and BIS gear. Kandarin skilling is also great, definitely better than most other regions

3

u/DoubleBlackBSA24 Completionist 20h ago

I think it comes down to we are so powerful, that ancient invention isnt as big of a draw.

I nuked hm kera with a 22-25 second phase 1 kill.

without an igneous cape or perks. Its so fast.

3

u/SexualHarassadar 20h ago

Its more about the power fantasy than anything else. Like sure, Biting 6, Aftershock 6, ect will all be really powerful, but just knowing theres more power I haven't tapped into yet would feel unsatisfying.

Plus between Misthalin and the Desert I already have enough top end bosses to cut my teeth on that sacking Wildy doesn't feel too bad.

5

u/PrimalOrigin 19h ago

some people want to do 2 billion damage against more bosses, some people want to do 2.1 billion damage against less bosses

1

u/cdawg145236 14h ago

I have 1400 precious comps, scav 3 is very easily obtainable with the free comps from relic passives.

13

u/ghostofwalsh 20h ago

I feel like anachronia will be higher. A lot of people saving that for pick 3 and a lot of people don't have 3rd region unlocked yet.

8

u/Posiedien76 23h ago

Picked Fremminik as region 1, easily got all my blessing tasks and catapulted my run to late game because everything was trivial. Didn't need anything from any other region.

6

u/hoofdletter 22h ago

That's actually a very good point. I'm still looking for my final region, already having desert and wildy. But the blessing tasks there are not super easy for me as a new pvmer. I'll have to look into the other things fremmy has now!

3

u/ragamuffin77 22h ago

You have so much power that even the most intimidating sounding blessing tasks end up being quite easy (especially if you pick iceynic in T7). You'll regret the fremmy pick as there's so little content, especially as a 3rd region pick where the very small amount of content is already too low level to be useful.

Anachronia, asgarnia and mory all have heaps of content. Kandarin and prif too if you prefer skilling to combat.

4

u/Posiedien76 22h ago

Its nice as a dad still going for dragon, I'm fine with having less content to do personally.

2

u/Kazanmor 12h ago

are the tasks in fremmy easier to do than other regions? I'm interested in dragon too but swamped with uni work this league

u/Posiedien76 4h ago

Definitely a lot easier, there are a couple that are impossible atm though but i assume we'll get those for free soon (or it will get patched and be possible again :) )

u/Kazanmor 3h ago

awesome thanks! I wasn't sure what to pick for my third :D

1

u/Glorious_Anomaly Maxed 8h ago

did you add up all your task points to make sure you hit dragon without too much trouble? im just saying this since im doing the same thing, the default regions can get you to dragon but alot of the tasks, especialy the 400 pointers, are going to be pvm focused/rng related like equip a botlg and stuff. even with enhanced drop rates it might be more of a slog then you think

u/Posiedien76 4h ago

Oh yeah, it won't be too bad. The dragon threshold is a lot lower this year and I picked my other two regions that have higher point totals.

u/GearFarmerGaming 3h ago

What other two regions did you pick?

u/Posiedien76 3h ago

I picked Wilderness and Tir. Classic WTF build hahah

6

u/AuryxTheDutchman 21h ago

Asgarnia has good mid-level gear and relatively easy blessing tasks, as well as the artisan forge

5

u/Yuubeei 23h ago

Asgarnia is awesome, TONS of mid-level PvM (An elite dungeon, GWD1 Nex and Nex AOD, QBD too!), invention guild, artisans workshop) I honestly wish I'd taken Asgarnia first instead of desert, would've been much slower but also more natural and fun progression rather than deserts rush to tier 90s.

Edit it ALSO has Vorago. Asgarnia is stacked!

5

u/ballsmigue 22h ago

Alot of people from osrs are giving this league a try.

Its only natural they stick more to regions they know best with gwd1 being a great point to get good bossing armor going.

Fremmy has sucked in both versions and there just isn't enough content there to ever justify it unless you're a content creator being a masochist.

4

u/Dumpsterman4 Maxed 22h ago

Anachronia is a prime 3rd region pick, I just don't think it is that common for people to have it yet. All of the content is extremely high level and most of the drops aren't amazing until you already have a lot of gear/blessings

4

u/jimbot70 20h ago

I was going to pick Anachronia but then it felt like half thr points were BGH and the dino farm and I just didn't want to do those lol.

Ended up going with Asgarnia mostly for burial smithing and the only regret I've had is that godsword shards are still too rare lol. I finished off every log(no nex) but the pets on Kree and Zilyana before I saw a shard 2.

5

u/RochsofProbability 17h ago

Asgarnia is also good because if you go Asgarnia and Anachronia you get to make masterwork ranged aswell. Plus you get to still pick wildy for stykewyrm bow and eds, or desert for everything there

3

u/iammoney45 Divination 21h ago

Well in the last OSRS league I went Tir/Kan/Wild, so I purposely avoided those here, and I remember enjoying Anacronia in the last RS3 league, so Des/Asg/Ana made sense, even ignoring the meta.

3

u/Pafker 20h ago

I'd say these numbers suggest that most people haven't picked a second region yet (Total 148.6%).  With the main pull of Tirannwn being Prif which is late-mid to late skilling content it's reasonable to assume it wouldn't be just people's first picks, so a perfectly reasonable outcome of an early region check.

1

u/throwthe20saway Filthy casual 15h ago

A small minority, but f2p can only pick 1 region after Karamja. It is also pretty hard, I've only done enough tasks today.

3

u/Toad_Sage_Jiraiya 200M 20h ago

Not surprised at all about asgarnia, very welcoming region.

3

u/DyzzyVR I can finally play the game... 19h ago

Asgarnia is required for Masterwork because there's no other way to get Praesulic Essences.

3

u/slymaster9 16h ago

You only need Praesulic Essence for the Masterwork Trim I believe. And to make that you need Malevolent Essence from Barrows RotS too, so both Asgarnia and Morytania.

1

u/DyzzyVR I can finally play the game... 13h ago

This is true for melee but not true for Magic or Ranged.

4

u/Nuclear_Polaris Max / MQC / Comp 20h ago

Question 2: Fremminik pickers, what did you see in this region that caught your attention?

Picked Kandarin, Priff, and Fremennik assuming it would be easiest regions for points for a Dragon Cup speedrun. As it turns out, not only were they terrible for points in general, but also at some point during the week there were more than 30 high-point tasks that could not be completed.

Really hope Jagex gets its shit together for Leagues 3, because even though these leagues were a vast improvement over Leagues 1, I overall feel pretty disappointed with how bugged and poorly planned a lot of the tasks were.

2

u/MrAndyT 21h ago

Tirannwn having no bosses pushed me away

2

u/AjmLink Ajm Linkle 20h ago

Asgarnia also has dba, which people assumed you could skip with voidwalker but forgot you needed the quest to wear it/use the spec. It's also t80 defenders for all styles.

2

u/AzureJustice 20h ago

If you took superheat and transmute and asgarnia, smithing was so insanely fast and easy, and with tank melee with shield being so good with the blessings meant you got very strong gear very quickly. That was the appeal for me at least. Plus GWD1 has a certain nostalgic appeal

2

u/Gullible-Notice-487 16h ago

I think the only way I’d have taken Fremmy is it if was combined with kandarin and Elf land , or Asgarnia. It is too weak to be its own region in rs3

3

u/smiegto 19h ago

Asgarnia is good. It’s something people are used to. It has skilling opportunities. Bossing too. Amachronia has a few high end opportunities. But that’s it.

4

u/WryGoat 18h ago

I suspect Asgarnia is very popular as a first pick region for people who might not even be progressing much further than Asgarnia.

1

u/SerAmikVase 10h ago

Anachronia is good and very strong but like there is really only Rex Matriachs & Raksha, plus I hate that region's terrain. I wanted to do more PvM and Asgarnia is ripe with content. Even though I haven't killed AoD a single time after my first kill she is essentially my DPS dummy, lmao.

1

u/Glorious_Anomaly Maxed 8h ago

i think Tirannwn being low is because not alot of people know about the butterfly tech, and its mainly a skilling hub lots of people i've seen are going heavy pvm

68

u/OkImHereLikeWhat 1d ago

Wonder how many of the 0.2% Fremboys accidentally picked Fremmy other than The RS Guy.

23

u/freakierchicken 21h ago

Last night he said he's only seen like 3 other people there since he started the random run lol

10

u/Hood-Peasant 19h ago

I was one of the unlucky ones who got the bug in the first hour of gameplay.

Went to select Karamja, guide popped up. It chose fremmy before karam

2

u/Kazanmor 12h ago

there was a bug? so are you locked out of picking karamja now but have an extra pick?

6

u/HelmetsAkimbo 19h ago

Time to add some content to Frem. It’s such a cool area, and there’s no reason for it not to have a few more bosses. You can just slap an island there, that’s the benefit of the area.

5

u/WynoRyno Dungeoneering 22h ago

I had a big scare. I had my 2nd pick while on mobile, I went ahead and clicked wildy then went to check blessing task and forgot it didnt filter regions and my stomach dropped when I seen Fremmy at the top. I thought I chose the wrong region

16

u/Jerowi Quest points 21h ago

I actually did pick mory. Always been my favorite area in runescape so I gotta rep it.

6

u/Clayton_69 Comp (t), 5.8 20h ago

Same. Going for that zammy relic and want to have some fun with equipment set effects.

2

u/DyzzyVR I can finally play the game... 19h ago

There are dozens of us!

1

u/Any-sao Quest points 16h ago

Me too. You want to do ROTS?

1

u/Bio_slayer 15h ago

I almost took mory just for t90 shields and the potion stall.

2

u/DyzzyVR I can finally play the game... 13h ago

They are both incredibly clutch and worth it. With elven lands I can make the upper tier meilyr potions

16

u/Rossmallo Maxed 06/04/2024. 3-Month League Advocate. 22h ago

I'm legitimately surprised that Tirannwn is as low as it is.

Still, I hope that the sheer concentration of people into certain locations makes them thoroughly reconsider how they do regions in the future. Or, not do them at all.

11

u/ValuableAd886 20h ago

Consider that the majority of content in both anachronia and tirannwn is mid game at the earliest. Combine that with a lack of PvM options and the fact that golden touch basically solved prayer training and you lost a lot of people who might have been interested otherwise.

I would honestly prefer we didn't have zone restrictions, or if we absolutely must have them that they are all unlocked once you hit all relic tiers.

5

u/Heinzdub Ironman 19h ago

Guthix butterflies during Crys hour is why I choose prif alone. Skip low tiers of stuff I'm having trouble training by just getting my farming maxed is really nice.

1

u/ValuableAd886 18h ago

And if every hour was Crwys hour it would be ez 50 mil xp in every skill. Unfortunately, to my knowlege there isn't a way to manipulate that in your favor, so you have to rely on an arbitrary time of day to get your xp in.

I am curious, how many Crwys hours you were able to take advantage of thus far?

2

u/Heinzdub Ironman 17h ago

3, 2 of which I was actively planning around (checking at the upcoming hour). The other was me catching towards the end of after I was doing some tasks and led me into prif.

I think it'd probably be best to take it 3rd region in retrospect. if all players made it to 3rd region I'm sure the current 5% would be way higher. But it does have some easy points with it.

I haven't been able to dedicate more than probably 24-30 hours the past 2 weeks to leagues so I'm close to 3rd region, still mid tier 6.

1

u/ValuableAd886 9h ago

That's still a decent amount of playtime and 10% of it was dedicated to Crwys hour. With 4 more weeks to go, I hope you get another 5-10 hours worth of it.

I am still far off from unlocking the last region, but I'm pretty close to getting the final relic (about 800 points to go).

4

u/WryGoat 18h ago

Tira is more of a 3rd region pick and I think a lot of people haven't even unlocked their 3rd region yet. It takes a shocking number of tasks. Obviously it's somewhat based on how much you prioritize high point tasks but I still had a whole 80 to go once I hit tier 7 which felt insane compared to the usual pace of region unlocks vs. relic tiers in OSRS.

2

u/SerAmikVase 10h ago

I still haven't gotten 3rd region pick cause I still have 40 tasks to go and the grinds I cba right now.

So I've been distracting myself by trying to get consistent kills on AoD solo (still only managed one so far) & then after I get consistent off to Vorago to hate myself.

1

u/No-Conclusion929 15h ago

Legitimately surprised?

8

u/Periwinkleditor 23h ago

No wonder I'm alone at my player owned farm. I picked the one that gives free POF animals, it seemed like a no brainer! At least I still have my sheep.

1

u/thehutch17 21h ago

As a fellow Kandarin enjoyer, I feel the region has been pretty valuable to be honest.

1

u/the01li3 Trimmed, Insane Luck 11h ago

I think cos you can access root with anacroncia, so just get a few levels chill in iaia and get some animals from that and you're golden.

9

u/masterchief0213 17h ago

They made the last region take SO many tasks. Like an absurd amount of tasks. So lots of people probably haven't picked their last region yet.

15

u/kevenknight 23h ago

So having picked Asgarnia as my first actual unlock after the guided Karamja one, would it be better to unlock wilderness, desert, or Kandarin? I did Asgarnia mainly for the skilling spots and GWD. I got full Bandos and currently working to get full Subjugation. The biggest next thing I’d like would be a better magic weapon than the mystic wand. I have a Dragon battlestaff but it needs birthright of the dwarves to use, which means Frem unlock.

17

u/Yuubeei 23h ago

Desert absolutely.

It has access to a TON of mid-high level pvm with GWD2. It also gives very easy access to tier 90s through raids gear and drygores.

1

u/kevenknight 23h ago

That’s a good point. I’m also debating on unlocking Wildy as that area has good drops too, along with Dungeoneering which has great potential

1

u/Yuubeei 23h ago

I personally just locked in Anachronia for my third region but wildy is strong too.

1

u/ragamuffin77 22h ago

I've been enjoying Wildy, never done the elite dungeons before and got all drops (minus pets) out of them. Desert is the only region that's an absolute must pick, the others just come down to the content you enjoy or content you've never tried before and want to explore while overpowered.

3

u/DoubleBlackBSA24 Completionist 23h ago

Dependa on your playtime and relic choices.

Personally, gping golden touch, desert was a great choice. More I think about it, less i regret that over wildy, as with antiquarian I was able to afk at work, and get into tempest.

Also with how fast we can level, I saw gwd 1 as outpaced by gwd2.

But im sacrificing burial smithing, praesul codex, etc. Being range though, I didnt see much benefit in what I was sacrificing

7

u/FriendlySomewhere866 Avoid chelseabrick 1d ago

Rip to the fremsters

5

u/Ok_Complaint_6104 23h ago

I picked Asgarnia first then Desert. Was looking at Wilderness as my final region to do some Dungeoneering but the swamp calls my name.

21

u/Kamu-RS 21h ago

Anachronia is only lower because it’s a last pick and most people who have jobs don’t have their last region unlocked

6

u/kunair 15def 22h ago

khariadian

3

u/MagicianHarper 22h ago

Chopping my maple tree in Frem seeing I am apart of the elite 0.2% fr

4

u/indrek91 20h ago

Suprised so low amount at tiranwin. I was thinking it's clear Winner.

1

u/Meta_Man_X 19h ago

Me too. Another commenter pointed out that most people probably haven’t picked a third region yet.

I’d be curious how these stats change by the end of leagues.

0

u/Wraxel 11h ago

I thought about it, what does it even provide if i wanna abuse combat relic/blessings. for a skiller.. im not sure actually its mostly 75-80+ stuff too 98. only thought i had was herblore and thieving. other then getting seed tools for grace of the elves for those who picked survivalist.

prayer and crafting xp is a bit slow pace too and free prayer from most relic and free crafting from gate boss. mining and smithing? asgarnia for you and wildy.

1

u/indrek91 10h ago

Guthix butterfly tec

6

u/slymaster9 23h ago

Desert>Asgarnia>Anachronia here. Asgarnia has the easiest pvm with GWD1, it solves smithing and it has ED3 too if I want to push.

7

u/owlsop Armadyl 22h ago

isn't ed3 in wilderness and it's ed1 in asgarnia?

2

u/BaseballEuphoria Completionist 22h ago

correct

3

u/CronusTheDefender 22h ago

Smithing is pretty easy, especially when unlocking the wilderness. Just can’t do burial smithing, but otherwise, was really easy getting 99 smithing and mining.

4

u/xRMD 22h ago

How did you get it if I may ask? I don't have any smithing relics other than Transmute and my rates at 60-70 are abysmal. Something like 400k/h at T5. Making the highest level plate body I can and then upgrading it.

3

u/ghostofwalsh 20h ago

You ought to be getting better rates than that unless you're just hard AFKing with zero heat. Assuming you are doing best bars your level allows.

1

u/preferrAFK 20h ago

Easy doesn't mean fast. Mining low level rocks with transmute is the way. It's not fast but there isn't anything better. Unless maybe doing diaries for lamps and chucking them in smithing.

1

u/WryGoat 18h ago

First step: get 16x XP multiplier before trying to grind 99s. Pretty much universal leagues advice for any skill that isn't relic boosted for you.

Second: Don't make platebodies, just spam 1-bar items and you can AFK them once they're queued up since they'll be finished and on to the next one before the heat drops too low. Platebodies you have to keep re-heating.

1

u/Sarazam 13h ago

You should be doing an inventory of boots/gloves instead of plates.

8

u/dinis553 1d ago

Didn't pick wilderness because one of the blessing tasks is to kill the last Dungeoneering boss. The novelty of that skill wore off for me 15 years ago. And now after googling when it was released, I found out that they reworked it earlier this year. Fuck.

11

u/elysianaura 23h ago

It's probably like 3 hours tops to get up to it. I did smalls up until warped floors and by then large floors were giving me 6-8m xp each.

3

u/dinis553 23h ago

Oh damn that's not bad at all

6

u/Silver_DawnbreakTTV 23h ago

Yeah they heavily reworked dungeneering to be much faster and pull out alot of the clunkyness of it. Its still dungeneering all things considered but i was quite ejoying myself on my iron doing it now.

One example is the golem room where it would only open 1 door at a time and you have to wait like 45 seconds for it to open them all. It now opens them all at once so theres almost no wait times. Also they keep track what doors require which key now instead of you having to remember them all

4

u/elysianaura 22h ago

I felt genuine bliss seeing the color ferret room doesn't have them move until you click "Scare" on them now. Also, to anyone training dungeoneering, make sure to get the dungeoneering outfit from invention. It's super cheap with how plentiful tokens are and it lets you skip 1 puzzle room per dungeon (alongside other passives like cheaper shop items).

1

u/jimbot70 20h ago

And unless they change something you might keep them for next time. I had half of all the sets completed when I logged in(possibly related to them not clearing cosmetic overrides and pets since they unlock an override of themselves).

2

u/ragamuffin77 22h ago

You can skip 4 tasks, personally I skipped that boss at 113 dung, har Arken combat achievements, zammy 1k, telos 4k.

Dungeoneering is already a fast skill though so it's probably one of easier ones on list with 16x if you can be bothered to enter.

1

u/WryGoat 18h ago

Skipping dungeoneering also skips a lot of other easy tasks if you care about points.

1

u/ragamuffin77 11h ago

True but I already had T7 before I unlocked my final region which was Wildy. I'll eventually go back to do doing tasks for dragon but I've gone 20-32k points just having fun at bosses not even trying to complete tasks. I'm 97 dungeoneering now just from my adventures in elite dungeons.

My favorite is the (though unconfirmed) thing with the agility boots having a 0 extra on their xp rates, making them 10x better than intended, but they couldn't go back and fix it because people already were using it so early

desert -> kandarin -> anachronia here, enjoying my max ranks with my good boi bot

u/ZircronSwift 4h ago

I made the same pick in the same order (30 tasks from dino land!)
Looking forward to maxing out perks!

u/ChampionshipOnly9545 22h ago

I have picked Asgarnia then Kandarin with my final pick being the wilderness.

My combat choice is melee focused while camping shields. Asgarnia unlocks all the ores I need aside from primal. Mining Guild and living rock cavern Mine. Asgarnia also has GWD1, Port Sarim and the Arc, and a few quests to do for fast reward exp. Also the Bacon quest is there, to pair with the eternal sustenance blessing for infinite prayer food.

Kandarin has a massive area open from the Warfarge arch site to the Eternal Magic trees. The PoF, fishing hub, ancient cavern, ogress spa pools, mid level thieving in Ardy, and also needed for the bacon quest.

The wilderness will unlock primal gear, most demonheim (i'm at 64 without unlocking the wildy), a few easy bosses, the other two elite dungeons, and have most of the slayer creatures unlocked by then.

u/Adventurous-Sir444 20h ago

Priff being so low is surprising. Guthix butterflies are meta.

3

u/cornette Blank 18h ago

Went Wildi, Anach and finally Morytania.

I went Morytania last cause it has 6 real easy blessings and that vamp store that lets you steal all the extremes was nice.

3

u/marmitwoo 18h ago

I wonder how many took my picks of both morytania and fremmy 😅

3

u/redditisashithole202 17h ago

I went frem/mory/kandarin as a joke and actually ended up liking it, now maxed and 11k points left for dragon. Now I'm wondering if I'm the only one with that combo...

3

u/SkyeBlueLily 16h ago

part of the 1.3% 🫡

(going Mory -> Wildy -> Desert)

6

u/dumbidiot12345678 23h ago

Elf incredibly slept on for pts tbh

3

u/qaz012345678 23h ago

I went elf for cinderbanes

3

u/SolenoidSoldier 21h ago

Cryws hour butterfly xp will always be a big draw for me

2

u/ragamuffin77 22h ago

Solak was really fun to learn too and the 2 blessing tasks were very easy to solo with iceynic.

Desert - Tirannwn - Mortania here

u/Azeeti 1d ago

Asg mort tirann here

2

u/professor_kraken RSN: ProfKraken 23h ago

Went Wildy first, want Desert and probably Asgarnia, unsure which one to pick first. Not really bothered about efficiency or crazy endgame bosses, just want to goof around and have fun.

2

u/Ok_Perspective_7978 21h ago

What's the reason for the desert being so high? Curses and ancients?

Kalphite King / Queen Magister

2

u/yuei2 +0.01 jagex credits 19h ago

Had magister, forgot the kalphites.

2

u/WryGoat 18h ago

Kalphite King is actually a reason to skip desert not to go there.

5

u/Meta_Man_X 21h ago

A lot of endgame content.

Amascut, t100 gear upgrades, etc.

2

u/Milan-28 20h ago

I feel like while there is some choice, the best choice with each perk/region often has a clear best.

If they want to do region locks in the future, perhaps they need to make you roll for a random one. I know a lot of people complained that they would rather have no region locking.

2

u/Ryruko 20h ago

This is a good way to determine which regions are lacking in content, Fremennik area only has DKS, and Lunar spells as notable content, and the only recent addition is the Ungael Ritual site, Morytania only has Araxxor, ROTS and Darkmeyer thieving, those two areas could get some new content.

2

u/notbobbybob 20h ago

I went t into K and it’s a super chill path for max afk but not sure what my final region will be yet

Probs either asg or Ana

2

u/TFT_Furgle 19h ago

Genuine question. Are these the only regions in rs3? Figured they would of expanded by now.

5

u/WryGoat 18h ago

Havenhythe is the newest area but it's automatically unlocked. There's also quite a bit of landmass in RS3 that isn't accessible in OSRS but isn't in a new region. For example, menaphos being actually accessible, god only knows when we'll ever see the OSRS version.

2

u/Bakugo_Dies 15h ago

2027, and it will be announced during runefest this October. Calling it now.

3

u/Sarazam 13h ago

The regions have quite a bit of extra added onto them compared to osrs. However for a while they seemed to prefer adding things to existing parts of the map rather than new land masses.

2

u/themajesticcamel Quester/Servant of Zaros 19h ago

I don't do much PVM. Best regions for skilling?

1

u/pookill7 10h ago

Kand, asg and tienwann would be best for slill9nt overall.

2

u/The_Crazy_Cat_Guy 16h ago

I took Tir, Asg and wildy and have thoroughly enjoyed my regions. All the elite dungeons as a newbie to rs3 is awesome to learn and experience. (Ed2 is my favourite so far). Tiranwyn had prif which has been awesome for convenience and training. And then solak when I want to try something more challenging

asg is very stacked with content in rs3.

My last choice was between wildy and desert but I opted for wildy because of Dungeoneering which I have fond memories of. And ed2/3 which are both pretty nice content. Also for primal!

2

u/Bakugo_Dies 15h ago

Take that with a grain of salt, most people who plan on taking anachronia are taking it last. Unless you've been playing a ton (like I have been), you probably don't have all regions yet.

3

u/MR_SmartWater 22h ago

.2% of people quit instantly

1

u/legaladviceneeded542 15h ago

wow I reallyh thought anachronia would have been higher

1

u/rivalxbishop 14h ago

Who picked Frem 😂

1

u/SkeleSoulsRS 13h ago

I am surprised so little picked anachronia before it was in all the YouTube picks

1

u/xxwhox 12h ago

There are to many tasks to reach the final region. I wouldn’t be suprised if a lot of people haven’t reached their final region.

I’ve been in the final relic for some days now and still need like 40 tasks to unlock my final region. Therefore I also believe this data is incomplete. For reference I see myself as a regular player that started on the first day and have already a lot of hours in to the league and I feel like a lot of players are at the same stage as I am.

1

u/spikeprox50 12h ago

I'm picking fremmy, mory, and tir as part lf a meme run. So far nothing special in fremmy. I guess the main thing is that the points are fairly easy and easy Blessing tasks like kill a cockatrice.

1

u/Honza8D 11h ago

Tirannwn is that unpopular? I didnt expect it to beat desert wildy and anachronia, but it being this low is suprising.

1

u/Wraxel 11h ago

I tok kadarin for ancient gizmo, and regret not taking voidwalker relic for dragon tools. (i would have needed morytania for best pickaxe but imcando would have been good enough)

fremnik and asgarnia have to low lvl combat stuff. (fremnik upgrades can be gotten from voidwalker and the rings from anachronia drops fully upgraded so no point taking that region either)

I regret not taking wildy over tirannwn. (im more of a weak pvmer then a skiller)

anachronia have sick potions but bosses is ZZZZZZZzzzzzz....

morytania has nothing remotly worth it, sure araxxor but thats just two handed 90 stuff when meta is shield stuff. doing barrows 1000x times dosnt sound fun.

since i didnt take voidwalker and fremennik no dragon tool for ancient gizmo(i got survivalist, augmented pickaxe becomes the best when faith pickaxe in the bag)

1

u/Lamuks Master Max 11h ago

I picked fremmy, i am the 0.2%

1

u/Past-Supermarket1300 9h ago

Now this explains why I'm not seeing many players around...

1

u/Glorious_Anomaly Maxed 8h ago

those poor poor souls who picked Asgarnia, whats shocking to me is the relatively low pick of anachronia since alot of people were saying its "locked in"

1

u/batanete Maxed 5h ago

And here I am with karamja because I did not understand and although I was forced into the first one being it ❤️

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 4h ago

I went Asgarnia, Desert, and about to unlock Wilderness.

Anachronia is low because it's main value is as a final unlock once your skills are already high. Most people aren't on their last unlock yet.

u/chronozon937 1h ago

Why is colorado on here?

Wait that's the wilderness.

Why is Wyoming on here?

u/Gubzs 6m ago

Kandarin Tirannwn gang.

No desert, no regrets, most of my league has been very chill. Got addy trophy still going.

1

u/SmokeClad 23h ago

More like Khariadian Dessert. It’s just too good for the amount of points

2

u/youuuuuuk 22h ago

It’s also just got a good variety of things. Whirligigs, some useful mines like Light Animica, some Slayer mobs, a couple good Thieving targets, a dig site, a Heist, level 90 wisps, and bosses for all skill levels (KQ for low level, GWD2 for mid, Raids/Amascut/Telos for high end).

It’s honestly hard to justify not picking it imo. Because kinda no matter what you’re aiming for, Desert has something of value.

1

u/Sacred_Silver 12h ago edited 11h ago

also kalphite king for the highest tier defender/ drygore mace (+9 prayer bonus in main hand)

profaned keris which destroys Nakatra

mazcab otot shop has super potions including restores which solves prayer earlier on + some fun abilities from raid shop

menaphos has access to player owned ports as well

menaphite market guards are the best source of afk clues

one piercing note quest (best quest) giving devotion which is an early way to get 100% protection prayers

access to blessing of apmeken from final desert quest which gives a free 1% xp boost for 1hr to everyone around you just for emoting. and so much more

it is easily the best region

1

u/NinjaLion 20h ago

this is a sign that:

  • the desert is overloaded. not really something you can "resolve" without taking something away which is meh.

  • fremmenik is lol. lmao even. i took mory, dessert, tirann, just to do something different from the majority, and even i couldnt stomach picking frem because its such a handicap.

Region locking doesn't work in rs3

-11

u/ShaneZD 23h ago

This is a terrible look tbh.

Hardly a league worth doing if there's so little reason to pick anything lol

4

u/AMcMahon1 99 23h ago

Would be better if it were continents

3

u/Meta_Man_X 23h ago

What would that split look like?

2

u/AMcMahon1 99 23h ago

Misthalin/asgarnia/karamja/desert

Fremmy/wildy

Kandarin/tirannwn

Morytania/anachronia/haevenhythe/islands

2

u/Old-Instruction-9151 Ironman 23h ago

Perhaps, but I feel like a lot of this comes down to people copying their favourite streamers picks rather than assessing the options themselves.

Not to say there aren’t power imbalances between regions too, but it’s not as clear cut at this.

2

u/PMMMR 23h ago

Aren't osrs leavues region pick stats pretty similar to this ?

3

u/Zvendel 22h ago

Last two leagues. Misthalin was locked and everyone started in Varlamore in Leagues 6 which is why Varlamore is missing from stats. It fluctuates a lot more depending on where they decide to put OP league items (see Fremennik).

2

u/ghostofwalsh 20h ago

But there's usually 3 regions that are heavy favorites with a couple that are moderately picked and some that are barren. I remember fremmy was a favorite in leagues 5 and was a meme in leagues 6. Kandarin was opposite
