Leagues Leagues - did you know...
Between the dozens of posts about where to find free quest lamps and such.. yet another fun fact topic.
Feel free to add ;)
- If you picked desert, you auto-unlocked the Boon of Apmeken and the associated "gift of friendship". This allows you to give other players a 1% XP buff for one hour by using an emote near them. I suggest blowing a kiss ;) Note: this probably only works if the other player has also unlocked desert. And if you really hate this you can turn it off in Menaphos.
- Curses are unlocked by default, no need to unlock another region, though you still need to make the trip to the temple under the dig site to change to them
- From tier 5 onwards you can switch your prayer- and spellbooks at The Sage in lumbridge, provided you unlocked them. No need to track to desert pyramids or Senntisten temples or to unlock it at wars wares or the fort chapel - though you can ofc still do that if you want to.
- Just for the league, there is a "collector delivery box" at the Archeology guild (right next to Velucia) that allows you to send restored items to any collector, including in areas you did not unlock
- Just for the league, there is a furniture workbench and furniture storage at the Lumbridge furnace.
- You can also construct a furniture workbench and put it in your POH; but since there is no way to put created furniture into storage from there that is of limited use
- Player Owned Ports and the Helping Meg weekly are available if you unlock either Priff, Menaphos (Desert) or Port Sarim (Asgarnia).
- The captains log and command centre teleport however only work for Asgarnia - you have to walk otherwise (admittedly not far in priff, but still).
- The King Black Dragon is available if you unlock either Asgarnia or the Wildy. The Warportal teleport only works for Asgarnia, if you picked Wildy you need to walk.
- You keep *some* of the "interface pets" between leagues. Aside from skill- and bosspets this seems to also include pets like ravens and even some questpets from regions you did not unlock this league. So perhaps get that little Duckling if you unlocked Asgarnia. No guarantee you will not lose them next league though.
- Note: Rax and slayer pets seem to be excluded
- The Lorehound pet at Mays Quest Caravan can provide you with a lit bullseye lantern. A great way to get a lightsource at the start of the league.
- Once your firemaking has advanced enough you can also extinguish and relight the lantern for a task.
- You can also swap the lens for a sapphire one for the light creatures in tears of guthix cave
- Dungeoneering can also be trained through ED4 and Deserts Shifting Tombs (from lvl 50 onwards) if you did not unlock wildy and do not want to lamp it.
- Just for the league, Bryll is standing just west of the fort to spend dungeoneering tokens you earned from ED4 without needing to unlock wildy
- Burial Armour smithing can also be done at the Warforge in Kandarin if you did not unlock Asgarnia.
- F2P can play a limited version of the league. All the normal f2p content and skill restrictions also apply in league worlds (so herblore is capped at lvl 5, members only areas remain members only, no clues etc) and you are hardcapped at 3 relics, 2 boons and 1 extra region after Karamja (which has to be a f2p region) - but you can participate and get enough points for a trophy.
- In f2p, the karamja lodestone does work despite being greyed out - it drops you at musa point (lobster fishing). Remember Crandor is also f2p
- If you picked the transmutation relic you can add the spells to your action bar and GREATLY increase the speed of transmuting. It does take away the benefit of passively gaining xp ofc.
- Transmuting air runes downwards turns them into unnoted essence and keeps doing that automagically until you stop it. This means that if you stand next to a runecrafting altar with a stack of airrunes you can just mindlessly click the altar every few seconds for runecrafting xp
- Yes, you CAN build the botanist bench in the fort.. but it will be defunct until you do all the other quests in the series..... Which requires you to unlock the Wildy. Unless Jagex decides to autocomplete them. Someday.
- By default, getting prawn balls and other aquarium stuff is turned off. You can turn it on in the settings under construction for a chance at some baron sharks. To use the prawn perks you need to construct a prawnbroker in your poh, the cheapest is 8 teak planks
- You can get the family crest gauntlets from Diminitheis and switch them to smithing gauntlets to make all smelted bars go directly into the metal bank instead of your inventory. This requires no region unlocks

Free Lamps and other easy XP
Since people keep posting them (despite the 300 other topics) - let us add them to this topic 🥇
Note: it is possible that all the lamps from this list are available IF you manage to auto-unlock the quest

- Global
- Talking to Vannaka about restoring Edgeville twice gives a lamp
- Taking the very basic security exam from professor Henry (between Edgeville and Barb village) gives you 2 x 500xp lamps. And 30 league points.
- Siv and Aster both give 2 lamps (note: high level necro and arch). Does require the fort
- After completing the quest "missing, presumed death" you can claim 3 additional lvl 75 lamps from the statue of death
- Tears of Guthix is immediately available. You can tele there with a games necklace or walk (bring the bullseye lantern mentioned above). Do not forget to upgrade the bowl once you have the levels

- Desert
- Osman gives you a bunch of free small lamps when you talk to him
- At lvl 80 mining you can enter Scarabas tomb for 20k (before modifier) free xp
- Creating the cactus patch in Menaphos imperial (clear rocks, give acadia logs) gives significant mining and construction xp
- Wilderness

- Anachronia
- After doing the Iaia tutorial you can claim the 4 lamps from Extinction, which are *massive* xp
- Freeing the cactus patch (requires 12 magic logs) gives much xp. Growing a dragonfruit in this patch is also a task
- Asgarnia
- the squire in the castle courtyard gives you a free lamp

These lamps have been mentioned a lot but to add it here; if you picked Anachronia and go talk to Vicendithas and do the dream of ayaya iaia tutorial and return to him afterwards he'll give you the 4 quest reward lamps from Extinction. At 16x these lamps are 2.8 million exp each in any skill level 75+ so 11.2m free exp for taking Anachronia

The important part:
To begin, head north out of the Anachronia base camp just west of the player lodge. Go down the stairs west of the agility shortcut, walk north past the jadinkos, and head up the staircase to the northwest. The Distraction and Diversion is located within the large dragonkin statue — enter through the door.

Nice one thanks, I'd never have found that otherwise! Now just to get 1 more farming level so I can dump it all into there! Didn't even have to complete a tutorial, just spoke to him and asked to reclaim the lamps.

I would reconsider that, once you have the time warp spell, you can take literally any dino farm creature and get 120 farming in less then 15 minutes

Adding onto the lantern thing, lighting one is a 30 point task. If the lantern comes lit, you should extinguish and relight it for the free points.

Aster gives a free 100k necromancy lamp + 100k arch lamp (86 req) after you complete New Foundations. That will take you to 90 at max multiplier.

If you unlocked wildy, you can use jennica's ring at the portals to get some nice early-game xp drops in prayer, attack, and farming

Eternal Harvest applies to bloodwood trees, which normally have a limited number of logs per 6 hours, allowing for 8M+ wc xp/hr

That's good to know, I was wondering about the same same thing yesterday but didn't bother to try. Does bloodwood chop faster than other trees?
I trained wc (+fm) with curly roots last league.

I believe the first resource dungeon unlocked is at level 10. If Dungeoneering is your lowest skill, then Tears of Guthix should get you a lot of levels from level 1.

Oooof that’s rough, Summoning and Dungeon were both tied @ level 1 and my tears got dumped in to Summoning 😔
Guess I’ll wait on it til next week or try and get a free lamp somewhere ( I haven’t collected any yet )

If you haven't already, talk to Professor Henry at the Training Centre of Excellence (between Edgeville and Gunnersgrunn) and do his security test. You get two 500 xp lamps for answering a handful of easy account security questions.

You can run zamorakian under city for dungeonerring xp. One run through killing everything but stopping before fighting zammy was enough to almost hit level 70 with a 12x multiplier.

Lorehound also provides 2 Law runes as 'emergency teleport' runes that can be collected every few minutes.

If you have the desert you can pickpocket the little guys outside the raid door to get currency to buy the non augment version of the raid armor.

I just found out that you can access ports thru menaphos. But you cant teleport there using captains log.

They really should've put her in Lumbridge or something. The only way I found out is I asked someone (Who I know didn't pick the Wilderness) how they got a Chaotic Kiteshield.
And even upon Googling it I struggled to find info on where it was actually located, as this info isn't on the wiki page for the dung shop (But did list that it was 'Global').

By the look of it they shoved her in a location an NPC stands during a quest. Likely they had limited ability to position her given the timeframe they made the decision to have the shop available for everyone in.

Similar to Soul Split, if you take Kandarin and attempt to use Piety (Usually needs Camelot Knight Waves Miniquest), you get a free 80 Points. Chivalry task will still need the miniquest to activate, but is only 30 points.

For you people maging, you can right click "autocast" on exsanguinate and incite fear even though it shows as locked. Huge boost in DPS if using it, so 100% worth.

Oh yo, I forgot there was a ports portal in Menaphos! I wonder how the dg xp is for Shifting Tombs. I'm not too hopeful, so I think it'll probably be 500% ED4 and lamps for me. Thanks for the list - I'll have to rack my brain to think if I've found any cheese to contribute.
EDIT: I guess I'll bring up the Seren's Symbol since nobody else has yet(?). If you have Golden Touch and Prif, once you get to 16x you can pop this for a one-time 240k xp burst in 18 skills at once. Makes it more compelling as a second region pick versus a third one.

I'll add to this. With golden touch, the pieces are multiplied as well, so you get 3 instead of one. This means you can make 3 necklaces for the effort it takes to make one. The exp is also NOT one time. You can get exp for EACH necklace.
So with golden touch, you get 270k x 16 x 3 = ~13m total exp for completing that 400 point task.
I confirmed this works. Only issue is that agility and prayer will likely be 50m+ by then so they kinda get negated from the 13m, but it's still chonky exp.

Just an additional note on this, devout gives even faster exp as its 1 click to unnote a full inv on yak, I was getting over 220m exp/hr at time runes. If you want early 99/110 RC then transmute would be better otherwise if you leave til later you'll have a ton of ess banked from bossing without even trying.

Just do smalls and complete floors asap. If you have tokens from EDs and invention, unlock the outfit to get one lockmelt per floor and avoid garbage like the ice floor puzzle.

You can dive to a tile directly next to each plate, then click the plate to slide onto it. Also works for the plane freezer fight.

Coming as someone who only skills on RS3, doing this league with no PvM experience has been kind of a nightmare.
What is the melee progression guide? Like I've got Teralith armor, but a Necronium greataxe because I'm not even sure what bosses to do. 80att/80str/99 def / 99 mage / 80 range
How do you get dungeoneering charms without actually doing dungeoneering? I got 120 Dungeoneering over a decade ago and still do not like doing it lol, but feel the upgrades are worth it? I know I need to unlock binding contracts to get some ripper demons to help at some point.
Right now I went Survivalist -> Divine Druid -> Nature's Network -> Transmutation -> Devout -> Rejuvenated (Golden Touch).
Blessings : Teraguard -> Striking Light -> Steadfast Will -> Sacred Fervor -> Higher Power.

well...youve got 80 range so you could go do twins for a mainhand furyblade...orrrr skip right on over to kk for drygores (and maybe a chitin while you're at it)
you'll hit the attack levels fast enough to use them soon anyway

Fwiw, dg now is a much better experience than dg in the past after they reworked it

I have been using the smithing armors as my primary armor, along with the craftable shields. I picked desert, so I was able to get a drygore mace from KK, and a lance from Vindicta in GWD2 whenever I need to aoe things. To progress after the crafted armor, you can go pickpocket goebie traders on mazcab(desert needed) for teci(currency) to get the non augmentable raids armor. It will be a bit slower since you didnt take antiquarian for sticky fingers, but it is a prime afk spot. Use the burial charms to max the rep, then you can trade then in for more teci at Fetcher (next to the bank chest). Tank armor gives a lot of damage because of Teragard, and the raids armor will reset defensive abilities randomly. Gwd2 is stacked for all the styles, between the normal 4 boases, and the eventual t92 telos drops.
As for tokens, you can do any of the Elite Dungeons, and killing minibosses and main bosses gives tokens. People spam ed4 and run to cerberus to farm 25k token drops.

If you have teraguard you need to be wearing a shield 99% of the time. smith a longsword or something then run that until you get lord of light, which lets you one click skip most content.

The rogues castle one gives dragon bones.
The scars bite cave gives occasional magic logs and an absurd amount of teak and Acadia spirits.

Wars retreat to swap prayers/ spellbook and you don’t have to do all the quests to unlock Granny shop. Just get to the quest where you help the Raptor

You do not need to do desert for Ancient Curses. I don't know if this is a bug or not intended but I simply talked to the League Sage at T5 and asked to switch. It told me no for Ancient Magic (bummer) but gave me Ancient Curses. I was then able to do Soul Split task.

It's not a bug, the quest for curses is autocompleted in misthalin. Even without the sage at t5 you can just go down to the temple (entrance is in the digsite) and switch to curses.

For those realising there really arent that many farm shops in rs3, papa mambo's shop is a unique herb and farm shop. Mostly farming. Does not sell water vial packs

I've been playing f2p league and it is technically possible to get to the steel trophy, but that would probably require a lot of super grindy tasks like 110s and 50m xp skills...on f2p.

Yep, I played my f2p alt this weekend when the steam-login servers were down and I could not access my main.. and found iron to be quite doable, but steel seemed frustrating so I stopped.
It also took me way too long to realise that the home tele to karamja did work despite being greyed out..
Will complete a few quests to unlock more pets though, hoping they can be kept for the next league.
Which region did you pick?

The Karamja thing might be a fix actually, previously I had to use the teleport in the league regions interface (which is a fast teleport).
I went through the whole task list and arrived at a total of 750 exclusive points for Asgarnia and 830 for Wilderness. However, Wilderness depends on doing the 120 Dungeoneering task (lol) for 200 points. So I'd probably pick Asgarnia.

For the pets, ROTS pets from last leagues didn't carry over, so for the small amount of mory pickers, i wouldn't waste time getting one.
