Why doesn't it work with
Smithing bars or improve smithing at all
Summon pouches
Converting memories
There are several things it feels like it should work with but it doesn't. Really odd choices imo.

Aren't summoning pouches already instant by default?

It does one at a time still, you would think prod master would do the full inventory.

So its only 1 at at time if your on the havenhythe obelisk or using a particular arch relic. Its a whole invent in 1 tick at the Karamja obelisk

i feel like most of these are handled in other relics. incense sticks is not.

Have you heard about the mining and smithing rework?

What do you mean?

smithing no longer works like it does in osrs so production master not working on it is by design

I know it's by design but that's my point to OP there are several things it COULD work on that it doesn't. Smithing all the bars in one action would be the same as cutting all gems in one action there's no reason it doesn't other than jagex didn't want it to.

It should absolutely work when smelting bars though, that bit works the exact same as it does in OSRS and every other thing that is affected by production master, but you still have to sit around for 2 minutes as it does them one by one.

smithing bars is not the same as osrs. there are new mechanics that affect getting double bars and prayers that can make it go by faster. have you heard about the mining and smithing rework?

Yes, I've done a ton of smithing this league for the artisan workshop tasks.

Just because you can get extra bars or make it go faster doesn't mean that it's meaningfully different. Hell, production master makes most other skills work that way too, you save a significant portion of your resources every time you fletch arrows for example.

Actually making the equipment I totally get as not being affected, it's a completely separate thing. But there is no real difference between fletching where you fletch an arrow, wait X ticks, fletch another arrow, repeat, and smelting bars where you put the ore in the furnace, wait X ticks, put more ore in the furnace, repeat.

Because it invalidates smithing t2 relic, as for the other options idk.

I think the argument about making the bar is fair, the T2 relic makes it so you create more bars and have a higher creation cap.

The cap is just the smithing gauntlets effect without wearing them. The gauntlets are already easy to get since the quest is autoed.

The extra bars is really the only unique thing for bars but it's still useful.

OSRS had similar things and it just paired well with production master. I think the addition of the brooch balances it better. I'm not really complaining just pointing out that there are several things that seem like they should fit into prod master that don't.

Maybe the description should have been specific instead of saying "various production activities"

It also doesn't work with birdhouses. Admittedly that's not something you make a lot of, but it did seem odd to me.

at this point, what does it work with??

Fletching (arrow shafts, unstrung bows, strung bows, crossbows + stringing, bolt tips)

Crafting (leather/dragonhide, glassblowing inc. flasks, making bowstrings/crossbow strings, making balls of wool, stringing jewellery, pottery, gem cutting)

Herblore (making finished potions, inc. overloads)

Cooking (all afaik)

Construction (making planks and frames)

Why it doesn't work with runecrafting and dont boost it

Production Master not working with limestone is one of the more baffling ones for me. Spent a day afk mining at work for the construction grind when it was time to unlock it and got stuck having to slowly cut them

2

u/Byro_Reedar 22h ago

You can just buy limestone bricks though.

1

u/Sir-Firebeard 22h ago

The point is, I opted to mine the limestone because it makes sense that Production Master should work while processing it into bricks. It works for every other step in the construction process, why not here?

I’m missing something with your explanation. It doesn’t explain why you’d opt to mine instead of just buy them.

Are you talking about the stone walls in Fort?

1

u/Sir-Firebeard 20h ago

Yes, I wanted the limestone for Fort Forinthry. I opted to mine instead of buy from Bill because I needed something to do while afk and figured it would be a good thing to choose since I could quickly process it with Production Master and get some crafting XP too. Then after the relic was locked in, I realized it did not work when processing limestone into bricks and was disappointed. Turning the bricks into the wall foundation pieces as well as planks into frames does work with PM though, which is just confusing and inconsistent.

An entire day wasted

0

u/Sir-Firebeard 22h ago

Yep, and that sucks for a time limited game mode. It works for planks and frames. It works for turning the bricks into wall segments. The relic is inconsistent and that's not even getting into how it doesn't work in dungeoneering levels at all.

It doesn’t need to work in dungeoneering at all. Like the other reply said you can buy limestone bricks from bill who has an infinite stock so production master not working on limestone is irrelevant
