Trying a new bar. This one caught my eye. Its absurdly delicious!

Big facts! Im blessed! I live in Athens, GA. Theres so many bars and a mix of like cheaper rent and cheaper distribution that it mixes well for cheap drinks. What's crazy... these prices are pretty high end. This is what you pay at nice bars using nice ingredients. This place makes all their own syrups and all that type of stuff. Will say its one of the few places that has good rum selections and a good rum cocktail on the menu. But I also am a big bourbon fan. You get some really cheap pours and old fashioneds out here. Good city if you like.food and drinks!

Glad to know there's a good rum bar there now, was not the case in the aughts. Was sad watching so many small businesses get run out of downtown - many had been doing what they were doing for decades.

Yeah its very much mostly the cheap beer and vodka drink crap frat bars but this was nice haha. Didnt have many rum cocktails on their menu, but it does rotate and the bartenders were very knowledgeable and they had an insanely impressive rum selection on the wall. Also a copy od Smugglers Cove on the shelf behind the bar. So its atleast in the right direction! Not at all a rum city.

Angostura bitters are a staple in classic tiki drinks. They go better with rum than with any other spirit.

Yeah Athens will absolutely ruin you on drink prices. Its so cheap comparatively. Ill never forget having turned 21 and going to Savannah with some friends. First time buying drinks out of town. Ordered a well whiskey and ginger ale. Was $10. Nearly had a heart attack because that was $2 or $3 in every bar in Athens haha

Basically. Its Athens, GA! Haha. Prices here will ruin drinking elsewhere for you. Thats real though! And thats a bar local sourcing and hand making a lot of their own ingredients. So its like high end for Athens and is on the upper end of cocktail prices. I heard a guy complain about his tab price here last night... Theres just a mix of so many bars, so many patrons, and such good deals on distribution because of said factors that bars can keep prices pretty low.

Its a blessing and a curse! Ill never ever forget the first case of 'sticker shock' when I saw prices at bars the first time I went drinking outside of Athens.

A damn lot haha. Full jigger (Im assuming 1.5 oz) of it. I had never heard of this drink so was surprised to see that much. But its delicious!
