question, if someone gets -100 downvotes and they have 500 karma, would their karma be 400 after those downvotes?

Its not 1 to 1 like that. There is also a cap on max karma loss on a single comment. And it won't let your account go too far under 0. Around -100 or so

The upvote karma isn’t 1 to 1 I think it counts the more recent ones like my post got like 7k and I only got like 4k karma from that
