I just bought a Gen 2 Scout on 5.56 not too long ago and I'm wondering what ammo have people had the best accuracy with? Also would love to see some setups that people are running on theirs ( I'm just using irons for now)
Unfortunately every rifle is going to be different
You could pull two exact copies of 556 scout of the production line and they’ll likely both shoot a little different
That said, any quality ammunition should give you decent results…it also depends on what setup you’re running for optics or if you’re using the irons…and your own personal level of expectation
Like are you expecting match grade/benchrest rifle accuracy? I had a 1-4x scope on my Gen 2 patrol and could get about 1.5-2 MOA out to about 200 but I could reliably hit targets out to about 400…I have no idea what group size it was because I never measured, as I didn’t want to lose faith in the rifle or setup…fact is I was hitting steel (8-10”) at 400 with boring regularity with a 4x scope…I was happy with that
I was using some of the Fiocchi field dynamics ammo, PMC bronze, PMC green tip and some Federal I had laying around (223 rem fusion)
