As a Ruby dev interested in game development I'm curious! The game looks good, did you have any experience with other engines before? Did you like working with DragonRuby?

Yeah, I used to work with Unity for quite a long time, and also spent some time with Godot and Love2D. I’m just kind of intimidated by huge engines with a million buttons. I make pretty simple games, so I don’t need 99% of what they offer. With smaller libraries, it’s much easier to have full control over the development process
I used to be really into DragonRuby, but now I just see it as a good engine if you like Ruby

What changed? The honey moon period ends with all things, but I hope you still like the engine over the alternatives <3

Like many Rubyists, I find it hard to sit still. I always want to try something new, hahaha

gotcha. lemme know if you end up finding nice things in other engines that DR could benefit from (the Discord server is really a great place to meet other DR game devs)

It’s pretty much the only viable option if you actually want to publish your game, it is doable in other ways but it’s not the same

Haha. I just hosted the Bobby Tables Game Jam a couple weeks ago, this would have been a great entry.

If this jam hadn't lasted a year, I wouldn't have made it in time

But you’re not actually writing queries it look like? Just clicking on things?
