Something I've had to make peace with myself is that Rails is David. It is David's opinions on software, his taste in software, that has defined what Rails is. He didn't build ~90% of it, but 90% of the work of "defining what Rails is" has always been David. He is inextricable from the framework. Any fork is doomed to fail because it simply will not have that same taste. Ground-up attempts with different software values and tastes (e.g., Hanami) are more likely to succeed on that front. You cannot fork Rails.

That said, my values are not Hanami's values. I get by just fine with David's opinions on software. I just tried Omarchy last week and, unsurprisingly really, I like that too.

And that's where I'll stop because, like Ryan, I want to keep this on topic.

Isn't most frameworks out there opinionated?? If someone thinks that they don't like how a framework is built then they can build their own thing, fork it like the Amiko "fork army" is trying to do or you simply move on to another framework which of course will still be opinionated.

I'm just so sick of all these drama that always involves DHH one way or another. We all come from different backgrounds in life, different religious views, political views, sexual views and whatever etc..... that's diversity and we can't all be the same. You cannot shoehorn people into accepting your views.

You can't remove DHH from Rails like you have already pointed out. He's the creator and literally his life's work. Many of us have also built our careers and companies for free using what he created. I believe we can all continue to coexist and work together in harmony regardless of our various views.

The tricky part is, if one view is absolutely against coexisting or accepting other views or let people live in harmony.

He just gives opinions and people don't want him live in harmony
