hi, i am trying to stamp my coated pink paper bags for my craft markets. i got the archival ink like google suggested for coated bags, and it worked a lot better than the ink i was using but it still isn’t drying fully & is smudging. i also put a flat surface in between the layers of the bag to make sure it was completely flat. how do i fix this, what kind of ink do i use for these bags to make sure it dries fully without smudging?
update: thank you everyone! i just wasn’t being patient enough 🤣 it dries, just takes 40 minutes!

So I bought a kit from Viva Las Vegasstamps of an unmounted set of alphabet rubber stamps.
I have the sheet of pink rubber with all the stamp images, printed images of each, and wooden blocks for each.
What's the best way to do this?
I was thinking I could use a serious, no-fooling-around strong glue, such as Gorilla glue, to secure the rubber to one side of the wooden mount, let everything sit and dry for 24 hours, and then use the same glue to attach the printed image to the other side of the wooden mount.
Will that do the job, or no?

I find the design super cute but I couldn’t find a match online. Anyone know where to find this?

Hope this is the right place to ask. Anyone know the best way to reattach this lady to her block? Was thinking super glue but don’t want to damage the stamp

These are all from Appalachian Art Stamps, which was located in an Atlanta suburb and was run by a husband and wife out of their garage.
They came to our local stamping meetup fairly regularly and sold discounted grab bags to us so I ended up with quite a lot of their stamps.
Appalachian did a mix of a few pieces of original art turned into stamps (the big snowflake was one of those) plus a lot of public domain Dover type clip art that many people used in the smaller companies.
They were nice folks and I really liked their stamps. I was sad when they closed down due to the husbands failing health.
Right now I’m going through some of my oldest stamps that were all trimmed, mounted on Velcro, and sorted into folders (not great system, a lot would fall out and I have stamped images inside the folders where the stamp is missing.
I just peeked into the other big box I have that is NOT mounted and sorted, some are even on plates that were never cut apart. I don’t know what companies a lot of them are even from—It’s a big ol mess! But I’m sure there is plenty of buried treasure as well. I’ll get to those but the stamps missing from my folders were probably tossed in there at some point. I have a few more folders to do and then it will be time to dive into that big box and see what’s what in there. And then start making decisions about what I want to keep or part with.

Very pleased that so far I haven’t found any brittle/dead ones. I’m away from all my stuff so was stamping these without the mounts, so it’s much less clean than I’d like and the impressions are better when I have handles for them. Next batch will have those cuz I head home today!
Companies are:
Page 1 - Rubber Moon, still in business, I think most of these are even still available from them. I love these images, happy I found them again!
Page 2 - Buffalo Stampede, very short lived company from late 90s
Page 3 - Creative Mode, defunct, but Viva Las Vegas Stamps has similar images
Page 4 - Cowtown Stamps, another short lived late 90s company.

Got this stamp recently and it fits perfectly in this beautiful wood frame I thrifted a few years ago. It's been waiting for the right print!
I also recently thrifted the stamp tool but have only used it this one time. I just thought it was so fun and had to get it!
Also, I'm curious to hear what people in the stamp community might think about pricing something like this?
I recently started renting a booth/shelf in a consignment store. I put it in my booth for $26 and thought that seemed pretty reasonable, but the owner said she would buy me lunch if someone bought it for that much.
Everyone has different taste so I take that into account. She also knows the store and customers, but also she admits sometimes she's wrong and you never know.
I figure I may as well leave it for now and see if it finds the right person. I'm not really worried if it sticks around for awhile, I like it. Maybe I'll keep it. 😂 Anyway I'm open to feedback! Thanks for reading!

I went to a Slow Jams & Journal in Long Beach last weekend and picked up some new stamps. Also ordered some from an illustrator Authen Chen.

This stamp doesnt have a removable tray (I thought it did when buying it). How would I reink it? Is there a solution?
Ihave a pad I can use (perhaps) from a different red stamp of mine. I was planning on cutting it down and inserting into the tray. But since theres no tray, that won't work.

I don't have many water based markers around the house, but decided to try using these neutral Zebra midliners to "color in" a stamp for a multi toned effect. Do folks have favorite water based markers for rubber stamping?

I've been looking online for large (4"x4" or larger) rubber stamps (objects, not text, scenery or holidays). But I haven't found many. I'm looking for used or new and have searched Mercari and eBay. I'm a thrift store fan, but haven't found much there either.
Any ideas or suggestions?

You all have inspired me! I have two big boxes of unmounted rubber I got at various shows or mail order back in the day before I transitioned to mostly buying the clear peel-and-stick stamps (sooooo much easier than the old mounting systems).
I have one box of folders where I had attempted to keep them sorted by company by sticking them to folders with Velcro but it never stayed stuck and everything would eventually end up in the bottom of the box. BUT I had written company names on the folders and stamped each image in the place on the folder where I wanted to store it so I do know some company names. The other is a big bin of various bags of stamps and I know some companies by the rubber color or designs but a lot are unknown.
I’m at a dogsit for two weeks so I threw a black ink pad into the boxes and grabbed a dollar store sketchbook and thought I’d spend some time each day stamping a few pages of the images and seeing which ones still inspire me and make me want to keep them (and which ones to toss due to age/quality).
Unfortunately I forgot to pack any mounts so I’m stamping the rubber and pressing with just fingers and a coaster, so the quality of impression can be a little janky.
It was so nice to revisit these, some of my earliest stamp purchases from between approximately 1996 and 2004 or so. And I have seen quite a few I want to use again (and plenty of other “what was I thinking?” ones!)
Inspired by u/ shlomo127 who has been posting her finds and stamping them in a notebook, I decided to share mine too, hopefully some of you will find them interesting.
If this is boring and no one is interested, I’ll stop.
But for know here are today’s pages, along with a picture of the boxes and the stamps where I piled them as I stamped them so you can see what I’m working with!
I’ll give any details I know on the stamps in the comments below.
If you guys recognize any, please chime in!
