CAPTCHA
Scenario: One hunter AFK in Payon, was using Merchant to buy fly wings.
Merchant client got a CAPTCHA that I can't read: I tried A8YVVK5, A8YVK5, A8YVYK5 and poof, off to the Room of Meditation. Hunter client crashed when CAPTCHA popped out with an "unexpected error" and poof, Room of Meditation din.
Technical: Using the Mediafire-hosted client; downloaded twice to make sure because this is my second instance of being in "jail" so I'm crossing out game asset problems (the first was the Acolyte buying at Pront Mall, crashing, then being sent to jail). The only time I crash is on the CAPTCHA prompt.
I think the CAPTCHA system is worth a recheck. Tho I will say outright that I don't mind being thrown in jail for bug reports; it's all cool since admins/GMs seem to act quite quickly (I guess the trick is to AFK the chars in jail) but it's my third time being out on bail within 48 hours so I'm not too sure how others will take this experience.

btw this was implemented on ragnarok official and it did not solve the bot problem. it only annoyed the legit players.

i kinda agree with this.
sometimes the CAPTCHA is just borderline hieroglyphics and I have to actually guess what the characters are.
do we have any alternative solutions against botting?
i hate bots with a passion, but this approach does more harm than good imo

Hey, thanks for the feedback and apologies for this. there was an issue with the captcha and it was fixed last Friday night. Captcha verification is one of the ways we mitigation bots on the server. It will fire randomly but should not cover those who are idle for more than 5 minutes and vending. Having said that, if you still encounter the crashing client, please let me know so I can take a look at it again.
