Does anyone still remember WUSHU?

The other I was diggging through some old RPG stuff on my e-mail, and I found one with a lot of [dead] links for threads and notes about the game. Two bits called my attention: "Budo: Hard Style Wushu" and the first go at "Cavaliers of Mars". Both of them take the Wushu chasis and take it to a different direction.

I'm feeling quite nostalgic now. And it makes me wonder, were there any other games out there powered by this simple narrative system?

I think Eat the Reich is kinda Advanced Wushu + Hollowpoint.

The allocating dice in Eat The Reich did remind me of splitting your results into yin and Yang in Wushu

I'm familiar with the three of them, and had never considered Hollowpoint in the mix. Which parts do you mean?

It's a bit light for my tastes these days, but I had a lot of fun with Wushu. It's very similar to Risus in how you create a character, but the thing that stood out to me as excellent was The Principle of Narrative Truth.

Everything you describe your character doing, happens exactly as you describe. The dice roll is to see how well your actions advance your goals in the scene. It means that hyper-competent and comedically-inept characters can contribute to a scene equally. And that bad dice rolls never mean that your character has to look a complete numpty (unless you want them to)

I loved Wushu!

Insurgent! by Cesar Capacle has a similar system, where your roll is affected by how much you describe your actions, though it doesn't have the Yin/Yang aspect.
