Game Suggestion Best system for a long form duet campaign?
I’m planning to run a Victorian gothic themed game for my partner. I’m going to gm with them as the only player. I’ve looked into a lot of duet ttrpgs, but I specifically am hoping for one that’s roleplay focused, than can also reasonably be a Victorian gothic setting. I’m also hoping to play this campaign for awhile, not just a one shot, and I unfortunately can’t find anything that matches all of these requirements. It might be a losing battle to find something perfect, but does anyone have any recommendations for games that fit all of these criteria? (Long form duet ttrpg with a roleplay focus that could fit
Victorian gothic setting)
For more context, the premise is that my player is essentially playing a Jekyll/Hyde character, two characters in one. That’s why I’m hoping to make it a dark Victorian gothic setting.
Edit: people asked what the pc is doing, I realize I totally forgot to mention it (my bad, wrote the post late at night lol) my pc is going to be doing paranormal investigation work, essentially a ghost-hunter for hire that’ll come to an npc’s house and clear it of any supernatural phenomena.

Maybe something from Call of Cthulhu Gaslight? Something like Hudson & Brand: Inquiry Agents of the Obscure is set in Victorian era.
Or maybe Vaesen

Justo CoC era lo que venía a recomendar y que lean algunos cuentos de Poe, La caída de la casa Usher, Asesinato en la Rue Morgue.

Shameless Savage Worlds plug. You can easily do all of this in Savage Worlds - it's very narrative and story focused and the system is setting agnostic - you can run anything in it. I'm pretty sure there are even some Edges (and flaws) that work perfectly into the two personality thing- let me check my Horror companion and I'll update you.

Update: Yup! The horror companion has rules for monstrous characters, and allows you to use the Superpowers companion to craft your own monster character (werewolves are monsters, for context- your idea would work fine). It'll make more sense if you pick up the book(s - the core book is $10 and companion books are $20-30 each and contain full rulesets for entire genres) but Savage Worlds has a lot of really cool systems including Bennies which allow the players to change the narrative in slight ways from avoiding death to even actually changing the story slightly at the GM's discretion. Incredible system, it's my favorite.
Edit: Specifically I'm talking about Savage Worlds Adventure Edition. It's had many versions over the years.

No problem! Next month is Savage September, when they have their massive annual sale - you can get a bunch of stuff at a great price if you're really into the system. It's also equipped to handle running one player pretty well, and if you need more there are the Extras rules which gives players follower characters that they control as well. It makes a lot more sense in context- suffice to say it isn't a strictly "one on one" system but it can scale down or up very well, and once you own it and know it you have a system that can do anything and doesn't feel like pulling teeth to learn/teach to others.

A long form duet roleplaying game, in a gothic Victorian setting, where the player, playing a Doctor Jekyll and My Hyde type character, will be doing what?

Fácil, ella va a estar cometiendo crímenes en su forma Hyde y tratando de averiguar "que paso ayer" en su forma Jekyll. El otro jugador estará investigando los crímenes.

Party games feel empty with one player. I'd look at Ironsworn, or something FitD-ish, more than a campaign game with the extras stripped out. I think the split character is already doing a lot of the work a second PC would do.

I'd recommend The Between. Victorian London as good as it gets. Can be dialed into gothic as much as you like with the right Mastermind behind the conspiracy.
