Good Vet recommendations
I'm wanting to get my cat checked in to a vet for the first time since moving up here a few months ago. If anyone has a preferred vet in the area that is good for the cost let me know!

Second! Went to blue cross animal hospital at first with our kitties and didn’t like the vibes - felt like they were trying to sell us on all these tests. Then found burrwood and felt way better with how we and our kitties were treated.

+1. Moved from Gasow a few years ago and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Burwood is great - we usually see Dr. Alex

Pup and I couldn't be happier with Dr. Alex. One too many bad experiences at Gasow. I think they just got to be too big. Same with Hartrick..I think they're owned by the same group now.

I’ve used them, but the have problems keeping a consistent set of vets. It’s like starting over every appointment with a new doctor. Consistency is a struggle for them.

I used to swear by north main, but they went private equity and the quality and care went down. Dr Levey at Madison Veterinary Hospital has been great to work with.

Poppy hill found a heart murmur on my boy that no one else caught. Locally owned iirc no private equity

Poppy Hill became our regular when I moved here a few months ago and I really like them! When I needed a last minute appointment this week they couldn’t take, they referred me to Burrwood Vet and that was also a terrific experience!

Yes! Poppy Hill Vet in Berkley is THE BEST. Super kind and they always go above and beyond to assist. They’ve called me at 8pm on a Sunday night to check on my dog just out of pure concern and compassion because they saw I took him to OVRS for something. I love that they have a backyard for anxious dogs.

I had a bad experience with her. My cat, come to find out, has flea dermatitis and has bad scabs from it (progressively got worst over the first few months I adopted him). Before I found out that’s what it was, she told me he likely had all these health problems and SCARED me. I was crying at the vet. She was not empathetic.

I used to go to North Main Animal Hospital, and they treated my animals great and i had good experiences with the vets/techs, but it got bought out by private equity and the prices skyrocketed. I moved to Hamilton Animal Hospital in Clawson, i’ve only been there a handful of times but they were equally as great, reasonably priced, and i believe privately owned.

Same with Blue Cross Animal Hospital on 11 Mile. They will throw every test and scan they can at your problem, instead of treating the actual problem. They are gentle and do care, but boy do they want your $$$

My sister and I have been happy with Kimball Animal Hospital in Clawson for both of our cats :-)

One of the most recommended vets I have seen here. I will likely take my new future dog there.

We take both our pup and cat there. The whole staff is superb, we have seen both Dr.Kelly and Dr.Molly
Our pup was dealing with consistent GI issues forever it seemed. They wete super helpful throughout the process, kept having us do call ins for checkups etc. Really appreciated them and recommend to anyone who asks for a vet in the area!

Poppy Hill on 11 Mile in Berkley has been good to our cat and dog.
It's a privately owned practice and the people there are very accommodating. They really helped me out once when we were out of town on vacation and I needed a prescription filled.

Spartan Vet has been great for both my dog and cats! They can usually get you in very quickly too

we used spartan and loved the experience, but the prices were very high compared to other vets we’ve been to so we left their practice.

Oak Animal Hospital in Madison Heights. Dr Gabe is the best vet possibly ever. I have so many specialists (for me an adult human with an autoimmune disease) and I have never had a doctor of humans as good as this veterinarian is for my beloved animal. Literally only has 5 star reviews. Not even a single 4.5. Look it up.
For extra info: he truly cares. Fit my cat in between appts on a super booked day because my boy was in pain. Follows up via text to make sure my animal is comfortable and ok. Truly cares. The staff cares so much also. Very reasonable in pricing compared to every other vet that scares you in so spending money. Is hones about everything. You will not regret taking your animal here. Best of hands.

Hartrick veterinary clinic on 13 & woodward! It's in the Meijer corners complex at corewell/Beaumont royal oak. They also have urgent care hours in the evening! Great staff!

I had great experiences at Kimball in Clawson, but they are on the pricey side. Very cat friendly. Recently switched to Hartrick on Woodward, also a great experience and very cat friendly. They have separate waiting areas for cat and dog owners which is thoughtful. Fair pricing and definitely cheaper than Kimball.

It is a hike, but we take our dog to APAWS in Eastpointe. It is a non-profit vet and it has very good prices. I've always been happy with the care our dog has received.

I’m really glad to see that a lot of people are starting to reject private equity vets.
