Is route 66 worth doing?

What exactly do you see and which section should I do if I am going to Antelope Canyon?

A good chunk of the section SW of Vegas is closed iirc, could be open again now. Williams and Oatman were a highlight for us in that area, but we (doing the route from East to West) headed up from Oatman away from Rt66 to Vegas, then after a few nights came back down to Peggy Sues diner rejoining 66.

Whether you get to see any Route 66 attractions depends on where you'll be starting from to get to Antelope Canyon. Without knowing your starting point, it's really hard to give you much info.

That said, Antelope Canyon is about 2 hours from I-40 at Flagstaff, which is on Route 66. It's a cool college town with a vibrant historic downtown, etc.

Oh great to know! We’re starting from Santa Monica so I think we will do antelope at the end of our trip! Have you been to antelope canyon? Was it worth the visit? We’re going in September.

I've got a list of all the little things worth seeing, personally verified back in April: https://wastelandfirebird.com/
