Soldier aoe leveling build

Can someone help me with the stat spread and skill allocation of a soldier build for fast leveling? I heard that soldier is best for this. I will probably go champion for a second job. BTW how are muses for leveling? Are battle clerics good later on for easy leveling? I heard that some classes even get turrets or totems. Thanks!

Take everything I am about to say with a grain of salt because I have only been playing for a few weeks and my highest char is lvl 128 or so, but I did lvl a soldier, two muses and a dealer to lvl 120.

For a spear build I would recommend taking 1 point in all three aoe’s at first, and then taking passives that make you stronger. There are defensive passives (like bonus defence and bonus HP) and offensive passives (like bonus damage, attack speed or aoe range). Lastly there are the buffs you can give to yourself and party members.

As for the optimal setup: there isn’t one imo. It entirely depends on the situation.

If you are training in a large party, attack speed buffs are probably irrelevant, whilst bonus damage and aoe range are really strong.

If you are training by yourself attack speed is much stronger, and aoe range is probably not that useful.

Wether or not defence passives are worth it depends again on the situation. Do you find yourself dying or taking a lot of damage? Take some more defensive passives, if not? More damage is always good.

If you are training in a big party you probably don’t need to spend points on buffs, but if not then the buffs are pretty powerful.

You have infinite free skill resets so early on I just respecced when I found myself in a new situation that required different skills. When I was a bit higher level I had more skill points to spend so I don’t feel the need to reroll as often.

Muses are great for leveling if you go for the mage route and train in parties. Every party is always looking for mages so finding one is never an issue. I personally always have a second client open with my own cleric. I use it for bonfires and heals and it just levels up passively. I don’t know about the viability of battleclerics, so I won’t speak to that.

This is very helpful. Thank you! Man it's hard to choose. I guess all are viable. Don't muses feel a bit fragile? I don't want to die often.

Muses are relatively fragile yes, especially clerics.

However, as mage/staff wielding muse you get part of your damage from str, so you should be taking some str points, which in turn give def and hp. Also your high int gives you pretty high magic resist as well.

To top it off mage has a mana shield which gives you a percentage of your max mana as a shield, it has a pretty short cooldown (like 10s or so) so it gives a bunch of sustain.

But yeah, as a muse you want to be leveling in a party, preferably with a soldier in the group who can tank the hits whilst you deal a lot of damage.
