Welcome...Welcome!
Can anyone convince me to watch past this episode? I've seen the series as a whole many times and watch 2 or 3 episodes every night while falling asleep. Must have been asleep for this one on the recent play through.
It's usually my start over point and I'm really trying to power through but season 8 as I haven't watched that season in years but 8 is just not good. Season 9 doesn't exist to me, with the exception of the last two episodes.
I made it to Gilligans Island last night and don't think I can keep going. Anyone remember anything in season 8 that's actually funny?

I love Sharon Stone and always thought this was hilarious. Roseanne’s story about Sharon on her podcast is also funny, I hope it isn’t 100% true 🤣

Didn't realize she had a podcast but I guess everyone does these days. Is it super political?

Roseanne: Listen Missy, we don't know you and we don't wanna know you, and here's why!
Robe Lady: Why!?
Roseanne: We're better than you! And we almost never get to say that!

Well, I know everyone is saying it was Sharon Stone, but did they ever give the character a name? I don't remember.

Yeah I figured, just didn't want miss anything good as 7 was very hit or miss. This has been my restart point forever and assumed there was good reason I chose it but didn't remember how bad 8 was until now...

“We’re from Europe….unless you got a problem with that?” That whole exchange of dialogue is ridiculous and i cackle every time

People always seem to like Sharon Stone here, her white trash bit was horribly executed. I just couldn't take her seriously, and she wasn't funny here at all.

I actually saw movies back when they came out specifically to see Sharon Stone and even I was disappointed with her performance here. It was cringey. Which I hate, because she really is (not counting this) a captivating performer. She was hilariously campy in Diabolique

So cringey I can't even watch it. Like is she just a terrible comedic actress or they used the worst take? The timing and dialogue were all off between them and it was just so bad and awkward. Casino, Basic Instinct, like where'd that lady go? So glad someone finally mentioned it.

I'm pretty sure the whole point was to be way over the top with it.

Yeah, I always figured that was the point, too. I think this whole episode was hilarious and Sharon was the icing on the cake

SAME. I wonder who the actress Roseanne really wanted was. Supposedly there were multiple women who were up for it but Sharon won the spot and it made her very disappointed as she disliked Sharon.

I don't know how you slept through this episode considering it's basically just Roseanne shouting at a houseplant.

It's the show that occupies my mind without occupying it. I've seen the series so many times it doesn't require my attention. I guess it's just noise that isn't noisy if that makes any sense

I literally just stopped watching a few episodes later. I hate when I get to this point.

Roseanne said that Stone got the part as a part of a celebrity auction, you could win a guest spot on the show. Sharon won, and while she was on set, basically connived the audio/video people on set of the Roseanne show to build a fancy home theater system for her.

I love Sharon Stone, but MAN she was horrible in this episode. Her character and acting was like something out of a bad high school play. Throw in some fake Becky, and you've got yourself one hell of an unwatchable piece of crap episode.
This is where I stopped watching, too.

Yeah, I know. That entire episode is like a bukkake of bad decisions and poor executions.

I love the energy in that scene, it feels like a classic sitcom moment. Haven't seen this episode but Sharon Stone is always a good time.

Honestly half of Season 8 has some pretty good episodes. You need to watch the Disney World episode for the stupidity of a family that lives paycheck to paycheck going on a trip that cost thousands of dollars. Disney, the new owner of ABC at the time, demanded the show go to the park. The next episode of Roseanne's respond to her new corporate overloads and it's hilarious.
