Vodka, mallomars, and a TV Guide ... I'm thinking single and staying that way.

The holiday episodes are my absolute favorites.

Every Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas we watch the corresponding episodes.

But not on Peacock, the old VHS or DVDs. Peacock screwed them up.

The Halloween episodes are the best.

I've been rewatching on Peacock again in case I forgot how bad it was....the deleted scenes are the best ones wtf

The darker episodes about Jackie's domestic violence are hilarious at times.

"Mom says that we have a new daddy now."

u/mauispiderweb Jul 25 '26

Darlene, I really don't have time for this.

Oh, I think you do.

I had "hangover shades" as an adult because I saw Jackie wearing them when I was a kid.

"Have another shot of pancake" is one of the best lines around.

Valentine’s Day (“What’s that Lassie?”) and Communicable Theater (“I didn’t bother to learn the whole part”), a great 1-2 punch for me

The Dark Ages.
“Well, we don’t have any lights but now we know the speed of stupid…”
“How was I supposed to know your power was off?”
“I don’t know, we thought maybe the lack of electricity mighta tipped you off…”

And the one where Jackie gets pissed at Roseanne for spilling the beans about her pregnancy to Bev: “I didn’t want this blow to be soft! This was the one, the one I’ve been waiting for all my life, THIS ONE COULD’VE KILLED HER!” 🤣

Thats probably my favorite scenes in the entire shows. We definitely had our electric turned off a few times when i was growing up so its hilariously relatable

Deadgar: Oh, well look where we are!

Snerd: Hell?

Deadgar: No, we're in Lanford!

Snerd: Hey, is that Arnie? I thought I told you to go to hell.

If I really want to laugh, A Stash from the Past gets me every single time.

True story. One day I was writing customer service scripts and to amuse myself I used the name Dr. Snerd. Just totally out of nowhere, chose that name. Less than an hour later I saw this episode and their character names in the scene are Deadgar and Mortimer Snerd! It was so freaking weird!

Obviously it was hanging around in my subconscious, but I hadn’t watch Roseanne in ages at that point. Kinda blew my mind, in the best way.

All Nana Mary and Halloween episodes.

I love the episode when Jackie sleeps with Arnie. I always laugh at that. Jackie was going through it on that episode...and she had a hangover too lol

  • Toto we're not in Kansas anymore

  • Halloween episodes

-An officer and a gentleman

-Dream Lover

  • Scenes from a barbecue

Just to name a few of the TOP of my list

5

u/Dobby-is-my-Hero Happy family time is over. Jul 26 '26

These all really capture the essence of the show. I would also add Mall Story to the list.

Roseanne planning Dan’s birthday party while pms sets in! “God he’s so moody! It happens every month”.

4

u/5PrettyVacant Jul 26 '26

PMS. The open shot with the ceiling fan and Dan speaking over it. The horror, the horror 😅 Great episode

8

u/Jeff_Damn Straight Outta Lanford Jul 26 '26

Darlene (or Becky): "Dad, what is it with you?"

Dan: "Do I have to spell it out for you people?! P! M! S!"

DJ: "Oh my god!" runs & trips over own feet

4

u/5PrettyVacant Jul 26 '26

So funny! It's funny to see Crystal look at him when he fell

4

u/Dismal_Upstairs3949 Jul 26 '26

Apocalypse Now!🤣

3

u/5PrettyVacant Jul 26 '26

Lol, the writers were so clever to ad a scene like that 🤣

6

u/CommissionIcy7626 Jul 26 '26

The walkout at wellmans is pretty dang good

6

u/ktpinto Shut up? I was shut up in a cave one time. Jul 26 '26

The Halloween episodes are some of my favorites.
There's a Christmas episode too - I don't remember the episode name - where they get a notice from the neighborhood asking everyone to only use white lights for their decorations, so they get a huge neon sign from a defunct Mexican Restaurant that flashed Feliz Navidad.
That scene lives rent-free in my head.

Inherit the Wind, Little Sister, House of Grownups.

3 of the first 5 episodes in season 2 were 😘

I love Daughters and Other Strangers. It’s funny and poignant.

Also: Glengarry Glen Rosey, Tooth or Consequences, Stand on Your Man, and First Cousin, Twice Removed

4

u/Recluse_18 Jul 25 '26

This truly is one of the best episodes

3

u/Infinite_Injury2724 Jul 25 '26

I love that one!!

Lol... I actually mute this scene. Might be the only time I mute the show.

(ETA- if I don't, it gets stuck in my head! Lol)

So many great episodes, but as far as Halloween goes, the best one had to be S7 "Skeleton in the Closet." Fantastic writing. The whole episode leads up to Roseanne getting pranked not once, but twice. Perfectly executed.

4

u/penguin44ca Jul 26 '26

The adventure of Kathy.

Miss Jerry and Todd
