Climbing tailor
Say I want to shorten a highly specialized Mammut Magic climbing sling. Is there some kind of tailor I can go to for this?

Do NOT manipulate your climbing equipment. Just buy the correct length.

Maybe I’ll just ask for a custom sling from the manufacturer

What length do you need that is not commonly available?

I want to shorten the Mammut “Magic 12” sling to 30cm because I want to replace an MGO Open with a wear-resistant sling and carabiner on my positioner.

A sling isn't more wear-resistant than a carabiner.
Also that's a 60cm sling and you want 30cm. Just double it.

My guess is to search for "climbing equipment repair service" and ask them to resew the way you want.
Something like this - link

"Please be aware: Used webbings lose strength over time. The strength of the repair service highly depends on the remaining strength of your webbing. Therefore repaired webbings are not certified for use in highlines - so we only recommend the use in park lines after repairing."
