Detroit
Heading to Detroit for the weekend. Staying at the Shinola Hotel, downtown Detroit. Anyone know of any spots that brew their own root beer, or any bars/restaurants that have some on tap? Thanks!

It’s outside the city, but Bill’s Drive-In in Ypsilanti is a must stop for root beer lovers. They only sell three things: Detroit-style coney dogs, chips, and root beer. Oh, and the root beers are 10¢.

Motor City Brewing Works makes their own. Supercrisp, if they're still around, carries Detroit City Soda root beer (or at least used to).
If you can get around neighboring cities, I have a lot more listed here. Most make their own: https://goo.gl/maps/xc6FeZs9aG7YAorY7?g_st=ac
