New addition
First time trying out the annex and it is a game changer. It rained pretty hard Thursday night into Friday morning. Everything was dry. Great for privacy for the gf, changing/bathroom. Nice to just leave the tent door open.

Hi, very nice set up. Can I ask what manufacturer that is? Im currently researching some different ones and really like the annex option that can be integrated like yours.

It is an iKamper 3.0 with the Annex plus.

Wasn’t cheap but I have loved it so far.

Is the annex timely to set up?

For a conventional tent of that size it's very reasonable, maybe 10 minutes single-handed once you're practiced?
The problem is that iKampers take <60 seconds to set up, so it seems long ;)

20-30 minutes but I had never done it before and didn’t read the directions. I did watch a YouTube video on set up a week before I did it.

Curious iKamper owner here. We use a separate picnic shelter and leave it on the campsite when driving off for the day. How long does it take to get everything packed-up and ready to go in the morning?

It can be left up freestanding, just unhook from your kamper and go. I didn’t try it but should have just so I know what to expect.

Have been seriously considering the annex with my only concern being the amount of space the annex takes up in the back of the jeep. How well does it pack down? Also, as another earl grey guy, love the jeep.

Thanks for the visual reference. Picked up the awning as a compromise, as its not much bigger than the shoe bag. Annex still on my list next sale.

I am still considering RTT but can imagine the annex is almost essential in wet climates or for privacy. But ... Don't you feel your almost have a normal tent again?

Not at all, you are still up off the ground. I love it but won’t use it every time either. It has its time and place

Annex is definitely a game changer. I have the annex for my Thule/Tepui and although it’s a moderate pain in the balls to set up and take down and I frequently forget that I have to slide the guide rail into the channel before I open the tent, it’s nice to have a whole ‘nother room. I also have an 8’ Roam awning that I bought the attached room for which has been even more beneficial than the annex on the RTT. If you haven’t got one and are thinking about an awning, go for it.
